My vote goes to Cirrus Minor (Cirrus, not Circus), very underrated song in a very underrated album.

At last! A thread dedicated to MORE, the album!

I believe I am in the minority amongst our members here in thinking that MORE is a grossly underrated, yet wonderful variation on the PF "norm".

Having said that, since I LOVE this album, it was very difficult to choose what in my opinion is the best song. Damned difficult.

In the end I too selected Cirrus Minor, just pipping The Nile Song at the post, but the Main and Dramatic Themes, Cymbaline and Green is the Colour were very close runners-up.

"Please pick up your camera and use me again."

I have just recently purchased More and I have to say it is one of their better 60s works. The whole album flows wonderfully and the songs are very catchy. I don't listen to much of their 60s stuff because I don't like it too much but More definitely is worth listening to.

My vote goes to Nile Song, Green Is The Colour, Cymbaline (I can't stop humming it) and Ibiza Bar. The others come very close.

I just love that line " And its high time, Cymbaline... Its high time, Cymbaline.... Please wake me..." It is so infectious.

Red Bull gives you wings!

I voted for Cirrus Minor because the organ at the end is so atmospheric...
Green is the Colour, Nile Song, and Dramatic Theme were all close seconds.

I voted for Green Is The Colour as my favorite track from More because it is my favorite track from More.

Also, I am very fond of this album as well, Byron, thanks to several listens.

Question about More and late 60's PF composing style

I sometimes wonder why did they force themselves to try and be avant-garde (Ummagumma, Atom Heart Mother) and not focus on their actual songwriting skills as if it was something too out of fashion.
It seems to me they saved simple and catchy tunes for their sondtrack albums as if they were something not to be very proud of, trying for too much in their official "group" releases (UG & AHM).
Yet, the talent was already there, and it shows on both More and OBC (I know this ones comes after Meddle, but its relaxed style can be compared to More)... they just developed other aspects that turned out to be sometimes too awkward.
Think about what the Ummagumma studio album might have become had they worked collectively on actual songs, like Grandchester Meadows and The Narrow Way 3, then have Rick composing some chord progressions (maybe using the "listenable" parts from Sysiphus) and build some long piece on it...

I know this is just pointless ipothetical babbling, but isn't this kind of waste of words the stuff some of the best conversations are made of?

HUZZAH Radiochair!

:o Cor blimey!, Stone the crows! and Crikey!, I'm gobsmacked. Never ever expected to read those words from you.

Should have just trusted The Floyd to do it's job.

I worried my constant harping might drive you further away from MORE, but now I am so pleased you have realised there IS some admirable PF magic there.

FYI, I still haven't seen the film and am still not too bothered.

What ! What! What! :o

You call yourself a Pink Floyd fan.

The thing with MORE, right, is the only way you're gonna really get anything out of it is to listen to it MORE and MORE and MORE...

Radio: How'd I do?

Floyd MORE!

Since I rarely listen to More (Animals is my current flavor of the month), this is quite difficult, but I am gonna have to go with Green Is the Colour, simply because it is the one that I am most familiar with.
