| Re: Waters 'building a wall' in Pros & Cons??? I know the subject is probably a little confusing, done intentionally (yeah right). OK what I'm getting at is that while I LOOOVE (3 o's) the Wall and I LOOVE (2 o's) Pros & Cons, I can still see a lot of resemblance in the later from the wall. I mena some notes are 'identical', hear the first minutes of Gone Fishing and try and find it, that's one really clear. Also, musically it hits the same notes, the first time I heard the album it was really clear, now it seems more like it 'feels kinda the same'. I know, I know, these are two way diverse albums and Clapton's guitar is way different that Gilmour's, actually his guitar is a welcome shot of freshness to the material. But still, I gotta say, they're similar. And how can't they be, Waters recorded three concept albums in about 5 years (I think) and the way of 'delivering his lines' (masterful in my mind) instead of actually singing them (you know what I mean) is of course very similar. And, the music from the wall and pros & cons, 'captures the same vive' or feeling or atmosphere or whatever. I wanted to know if you guys think the same way and what you thought about it.

| Re: Waters 'building a wall' in Pros & Cons??? I think Mr. Waters came up with both demos at the same time, hence the resemblance.

| Re: Waters 'building a wall' in Pros & Cons??? I agree with FW, but I also think that Roger couldn't be arsed with writing more music. |

| Re: Waters 'building a wall' in Pros & Cons??? Sure, the music is awesome, but Waters is a lyricist and a musician, so I guess there's no excuse for him not to come out with new notes or grooves. I knew that they were both concepts from The Wall period, and I'm not trashing the album at all, I enjoy pros and cons a lot just the way it is. I was just wondering how many of you guys noticed this also, and what other similarities have you noticed. Thanks!

| Re: Waters 'building a wall' in Pros & Cons??? I'd like to trash P&C, it is a terrible rehash of The Wall.

| Actually, I beleive Roger Waters wrote the pros and cons BEFORE the Wall, as there new project. The rest didn't want to because the though it was to personal, and so they started the Wall. The melody of "In the Flesh", the "theme-melody of the wall?" is a bombastic version, but exactly the same as the sweet and soft melody which the pros and cons begins with. I always think of that when listening to either one of them, its really great to hear the difference and simularity!! |

| Re: Waters 'building a wall' in Pros & Cons??? Pros & Cons is a boring rehash of the music of The Wall. One of the worst works from a Pink Floyd solo member.

| Re: Waters 'building a wall' in Pros & Cons??? Funny that I find it an absolute godlike work of art. (better then the Wall?, no, its different. The Wall is a supermodel, PACOHH is the natural but beautifull woman with real life experiences and the mother of your children.. do I make sense?) Guess you cant compare taste. |

b.r.a.m.: Yeah, I also quite like PROS & CONS..., but my objectivity may be skewed since I was lucky enough to see it performed Live. Floyd on! Byron

| Re: Waters 'building a wall' in Pros & Cons??? In my opinion, indeed. Thats' the reason we are here wasting our time: express and share different opinions. Actually the only album by Waters I like is Amused To Death, or a good part of it.

| Re: Waters 'building a wall' in Pros & Cons??? I've had too many good laughs and read too many interesting and informative posts to consider it a waste of time, no matter that it may seem so at times. b.r.a.m.: I envy "Pink Floyd" (an older PFfanNet member) who was lucky enough to see Pink Floyd Live in the early 70s. All I can say to that is WOW! Green (with envy) Floydian, Byron
