Re: Favorite Comic Based Movie

After seeing the second X men movie, I've concluded that it was a heaping pile of crap. I'll admit the effects were cool, but the plot and dialect were absolute shit, not to mention you only get to see Mystique's ass once in the whole movie and that only lasts a couple of seconds. And as much as I enjoyed cars being blown up (much like the first one, mind you), it gets tiring, even repetitive, after the first half hour of the viewing in terms of the hollywood dazzle. In my opinion, not that great, but what can be when it's based on a comic book?

Praise me.

Re: Favorite Comic Based Movie

anyone going to see the hulk movie? i may see it. doesn't look great but it could be entertaining to say the least. and if the league of extraordinary gentleman doesn't get total shit reviews i may just see it too. both movies seem more action based than plot based which isn't a bad thing every once in awhile. thank god its cheap to see a movie where i live.

hear hear..

i actually didnt mind spiderman too much, but i certainly didnt vote it. i liked the comics better anyway, they were quite 'dark and gloomy'. (cliche anybody?) as for the end, it was good. its nice when its different, and its a great setup for a sequal.

Re: Favorite Comic Based Movie

On Friday, I went to go see Hulk. It was horrible. The first 30 minutes might be the worst filmmaking, ever. A sad story line (not really relating to the comic book, tv series, or cartoon's versions of things). Ang Lee tried cutting up the screen to resemble comic book panels, but it came off as a bad copy of the television show "24". After 45 minutes we get to see the Hulk for the first time, unfortunately the screen is dark, so, no, you really can't see him. As a matter of fact, out of the 4 times they do show the Hulk, 3 of them are scenes at night, so you really have no idea whats going on, which is bad for an action-driven plotline.

Finally the movie wraps up with less then stellar acting by Nolte and Bana in a more silly than not plot device of having father and son confront each other.

Ang Lee is no Stan Lee.

Re: Favorite Comic Based Movie

i've never really read the hulk so i don't really know how close or faraway from the series the movie was. it wasn't too great though. but it didn't totally suck like the early 90's incarnations of captain america or the punisher (who is getting his own movie next summer). i thought the panels thing was pretty cool but i've never seen 24 so i didn't know it was similar. the animation for the hulk wasn't too bad either. and it was kind of cool to see him destroy stuff but that could have been done more. or better. i didn't totally understand the end either. as far as nolte's character. but jennifer connelly is pretty good looking so that helped it a bit.

Just to be different, anybody ever heard of Ghost World?

And I think I may go see the Hulk tonight with some friends. Just for kicks.

Re: Favorite Comic Based Movie

The Hulk was a bit too flashy for me, btw. But, that doesn't mean much on account of me not liking anything, really.

Re: Favorite Comic Based Movie

I forgot to mention, it may be the worst adaptation of a comic book since Popeye. Goooood Morning, Hollywood.

Re: Favorite Comic Based Movie

Hmmm...doesn't bode well for The Hulk then because Popeye was god-awful.

Re: Favorite Comic Based Movie

Well, they are redoing Punisher. And I say they make a U.S. Agent movie, because he's so way cooler than Captain America.
