3rd version ive heard it today. Had a music test and had to compare 2 versions of it. Didnt recognise either tho, i think the exam board had to make their own version cos of copywright thingys. But the Animals version is my fav

That's harsh about Tommy...

House was good. As was Huse

And...oh yeah, Hey Jude, never liked it much, but I listen, for it is the Four...

Sorry, Who fans, no offense, but I have to agree 100% with this. But I thought it more than kinda boring. I thought it was goddamned annoying. There were a couple of tracks that were OK to me, but I haven't heard the whole thing cause I can't stand it that long. Guess I'm just not an opera guy.

Right now I'm listening to "Bordertown" by the Hellecasters. Those dudes rock. In about a half hour, I'm going to put on the ITF Live DVD, cause I been thinking about "Dogs" all day----ya gotta be crazy...ya gotta have a real need...

Tommy, in my opinion, shouldn't really be called a 'rock opera'. It is more of a really detailed concept album...

Also, if anyone's seen the movie... which do you think is better, the film or the album?
I personally think the album is better, but I have to give the film version respect, since it led me to the album.

-Shane

BTW, is anybody else amused that we got new smilies?
I am amused...

The album is 10 times better than the movie, but the movie has Jack (Nicholson that is) singing, what could be better.

Talking about Jack in uncommon roles, anyone know that he had a writing credit on Head starring the Monkees? A very underrated movie in my opinion.

Yes... it was defiantely amusing to see Jack Nicholson in Tommy.
And I haven't seen Head yet... but I've always wanted to.

I'm sorry but I can't get enough of the Who, I absolutely am in love with Pete Townshend...but, to every man his own

I thought the movie was, in fact, very unflattering to the album. After hearing the album, I saw the movie and it was as good as I remembered...though it did tie up some of the, I guess you could say, 'plot' holes in the original story of Tommy in the album.

This may be the reason I had such a bad reaction to "Tommy". Never having been a Who fan, I've never listened to the album.. One night the movie was on cable and I tried watching it. I thought it was crap and quit watching after awhile.

yeah i can't blame you for that. but you should still give them a try. who's next is a classic. and their pre-tommy albums are great too.
