Exactly. Dave writes better music, but Roger is better with Lyrics.

Still, Roger can write some good music (Set the controls, Money, Pigs, Sheep...) and Dave's lyrics are also great (Fat old sun,Childohods end, High Hopes, Take it back...).

And Rick is also very talented, remember Summer '68 and Wearing the inside out.

I just bought this album today, and it is really very good. I voted for Wot's... uh the deal, but OBC/when you're in and Childhood's end were closely considered. What happened to Pf after this album??? Meddle and OBC seem so different in tone to DSOTM--- Final Cut, lyrically especially. Since by '72 Roger had already been writing most of the lyrics for awhile, what flipped in his head to make his music so depressing after this? (depressing, but excellent!)

P.S. sorry if this has been dealt with already.

the Floyd came out of a time when bands actually tried to be different on each new album
they even started recording a record where they didn't play their instruments

I like 'Childhood's End' & OBC is one of my fave albums
it is a real band effort as opposed to a Waters dominated affair

I'd have to say "Wots uh...The Deal". Beautiful song. "When You're In" is a favorite of mine, just to throw in something not getting a lot of mention.

Also, I find the music section before the chanting on "Absolutely Curtains" quite good. Super freaky Miraculous they did such a fine work in such little time.

Change my vote to mudmen... after 15 or 20 listens, I've decided that is the best song on the album

I cannot vote on a particular song beacuse I have only listened to the album two of three times since I got it a really long time ago. I will give it a couple of more listens and then report back with my favourite song.

I still can't vote, and I still miss sarah goode...and Hicks now, always fixxy. My layman's review on Gold It's in the... is forthcoming.

Although anything after Shane's expert summation may be gilding the lily, I'll post it soon.

And Wot's... Uh the Deal is in the lead with 22 of 69 votes.

Wot's... Uh the Deal is my favourite song from that album. I love Obscured by clouds, it's probably my favourite album apart from DSOTM and The Wall, but what i like on this one is that it's a full band effort, The Wall instead is mainly Roger Waters. Besides it has some of the greates floyd songs: The Gold It's In The , Wots... Uh The Deal, Childhood's End, Stay...

Nah not yet.

I still have a sneaking suspicion I won't like it...I've looked at it a few times in the shop and thought "I'll buy it another day".

Tsk tsk and tut tut, Driven. BIG TIME!

Oh, how certain am I of the full-on Floyd-fan fool you'll feel for waiting so long when finally you do hear it.
