Re: question about saucerfull

Syd is playing slide guitar on Remember a Day.
I'm not sure about his contribution, if any, on Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun.

I hear someone harmonizing with Roger on Ummagumma's "Astronomy Domine". Is this Rick?

Re: question about saucerfull

Ummagumma version of Astronomy Domine is sung by Wright (lead vocals) with Gilmour (backing vocals). Studio version is Barrett & Wright.

Re: question about saucerfull

I guess we don't know for sure who does it on Ummagumma... but it's definately Syd and Rick on Piper. Says so in the Echoes liner notes.

Syd does:
Slide guitar on Remember A Day
Guitar (acoustic and electric), lead vocals, and backup vox with the others on Jugband Blues
Guitar on Set the Controls (not the main riff, but those incidental feedback-y doodlings)

Also:
Quote:
A February 1992 article in Record Collector suggests Syd may have been on "Corporal Clegg,'' which is also noted in Schaffner's book. The "Crazy Diamond'' book notes "See Saw'' as another possibility; early Floyd biographer Rick Sanders agrees.

--from the indispensible Echoes FAQ.

Re: question about saucerfull

Geez... add the 'possibility' of Syd being on Let There Be More Light and Saucerful of Secrets, and this might as well be Syd's album!!
