I get you, but I thought the dialogue in Empire was way better than any of the others. I just think that it couldn't hurt if he had help from *talented* screenwriters next time. Episode III has a LOT of potential, lots of things going on, hope it turns out to be at least good.

See ya

Re: Favorite Star Wars episode?

I added a notch to Empire Strikes Back.

As for Episode II, I thought it was fairly good, although not as good as Episodes IV and V. I loved the look of the outer planet that had created the clones. Very nice.

Even if I am a fan of the movies I am not really into the so-called Star Wars expanded universe. No comics, no books, or other related fiction, just the Lucas' films.

Re: Favorite Star Wars episode?

I voted for Empire, by far the best ever. I guess episode I and II didn't meet my expectations because I have been waiting 15 years to see them. (I remember seeing Jedi in the theater). One really good thing about the new movies is Ewan McGregor, he is so perfect for Obi-Wan, if you look at pictures of Obi from 2 and Obi from 1, it's perfect, Ewan's jaw is just a bit bigger.

Also another funny falacy from the new movies. Who remembers in 4 when 3PO mentioned his first job was programming binary lifter, very similar to your evaporators to Uncle Owen, why didn't he just say "Hey, I remember you, I used to work on your farm." The only way to redeem this in my opinion is that in ep.3 R2-D2 and 3PO need to get a memory wipe.

Or the fact that Obi-Wan said that Yoda trained him (in ep. 5) but in ep. 1 Qui-Gon Gin is his master.

AND WHAT THE HELL IS WITH JAR JAR, WHY COULDN'T DARTH MAUL HAVE KILLED HIM INSTEAD OF QUI GON!!!!!!

But I do enjoy how you can see the build up in the new movies to the old ones, it is fun to watch the pieces fit together, although I think that they are putting some puzzle pieces in where they don't fit.

Here's the answer in George Lucas' words:
George Lucas - talking about C3PO: "Well, one, his brains have, his memory system has been erased and so has R2's. So, they don't remember anything from the first trilogy. I'm telling you something from Episode 3, but I shouldn't be telling you that, but I think most of the fans already know that."

Re: Favorite Star Wars episode?

Yeah, as I had stated, that would be the only way to redeem himself.

1st paragraph: how does C3PO remember his first job if his memory is erased?

2nd: i agree. especially how anakin made C3PO. that was very dumb. and the whole jango fett thing too.

His "first" job after the reset, obviously. Which is indeed the first for his new memory.

Re: Favorite Star Wars episode?

it just seems weird that he ends up back at a farm again and then ends up with the rebellion later.

Re: Favorite Star Wars episode?

I agree that the dialogue was not impressive in Episode II. What has interested me is the story between ALL SIX movies. It's very interesting trying to figure out how the chain of events all plays out.

BTW, if I am not mistaken, Mr. Lucas had actually written all six episodes, but lacked the wherewithal to produce them all at the time, so chose to do the last three.
