i have voted for astronomy domine!
i love this song!
it is much better in ummagumma live (although it is with out syd).
the music, the lyrics (im not sure i got what it means but its sound good).
when i hear this song i get the feeling that the singers (barret, waters/gilmour/wright - we havent decided who sang it on ummagumma yet...) love this song as well and enjoy singing it.

Lucifer Sam get's my vote , although it's something I can't explain

I might have voted for Astronomy Domine but the crap version of it on PULSE has spoilt it forever

I knew that someone would eventually start this poll...

I voted for Astronomy Domine.
I don't know why, but it seems to tower over all the other songs on this record.
Lucifer Sam and Interstellar Overdrive were close seconds.

I don't know... I wish I had multiple choice because there isn't an outstanding song... I choose Astronomy Domine but Lucifer Sam, Flaming and Mathilda Mother are on the same level IMO.

No, Astronomy Domine is not in the Pulse video. Richard Wright does lead vocals, David Gilmour backing vocals.

I go for "Interstellar Overdrive". That's just a fun instrumental to listen to. And while I like "Astronomy Domine", I much prefer the Ummagumma and PULSE versions...faster, louder, and generally even more fun than the original. It's a comparison of good to better, so I'm not bashing the original AD.

And I do like "Bike", and would vote it my favourite Syd Barrett composition. But it doesn't beat "Interstellar Overdrive".

Surprised I was the only (as of yet) to vote for Matilda Mother. Something about that song just makes me love it. In second would come Scarecrow for me. I just love the lyrics on both those songs. Of course Interstellar Overdrive and Astronomy Domine are fantastic as well.

"Scarecrow" scares the living daylights out of me. Just as badly as "Jugband Blues", really.

"Matilda Mother" is pretty nice, too. I like the Wright-Barrett singing duo, on that and several other tracks. Personally, I think Mr. Barrett REALLY needed Mr. Wright to soften the sound of his singing (which can, in certain contexts, be a little edgier-sounding). Heck, there were even certain songs on Wouldn't You Miss Me where I could almost imagine where I would mix in the harmonies.

Bike was on the original LP.

I voted for Matlida Mother. There is just something I love about that song. I love playing and singing it and, of course, listening to it.
