Personally, I think it is stupid to say that you should NOT EVER cover Floyd. I can't pretend to know what the Floyd members motivations are, but isn't this why they got into the game? To inspire future generations, personally I think some of the Floyd covers have been quite innovative, and Floyd fans have put a ridiculous Sainthood on these guys, yes they are wonderful composers, but aside from Mr. Wright, none of them would be the top in their respective categories. Oh, and what would you say if someone had told Mozart that only his orchestra, under his direction would be allowed, and no one should "cover" him?

Mozart, I think you are going a bit far there. There is a difference, people don't cover Mozart they play it as is. N one has ever completely changed Mozart, not like what Limp Bizkit did to Wish you were here!!!!

cheers

But the conductor must interpret the music. Who's to say if he/she has it wrong or right?

yes but Limp Bizkit don't cover Mozart cos you can't actualy cover it just read it as it is. And the conductort interpets the music as it is written and that doesn't change whereas people seem to like changing Floyd completely and that is whats wrong with it!!!!

cheers
