The Vultures Are Coming!!!!

Eureka!!!! I finally have my short stories. Its going to be a series of them, like a periodical. First here is the organisation of them:

The story is basically this:

It is in the future when humans are replaced by a birdlike race that has diverged into many types. The most dangerous though are a group of Vultures who have conquest on their mind. They want to create a Super-race in the twisted vision of their deceased leader, Velcrose. They enlist the help of the greatest scientist of their day, Heckelstein, to clone this new race.

Meanwhile, the heroes of the story, Raoul, Roenin, Dengo, Nicodemus and Soldat, have to stop them. Soldat is killed on the way (?) and Dengo is called in to replace him. Raoul leads the mission and the quest is ultimately successful, as the Vultures die in an explosion of the machines used in the experiment.

However, rivalries are ignited as Dengo and Roenin bear the brunt of Raoul's subsequent ego trip and things look as though they are going to fall apart. Then a mysterious appearance by an old friend.......

See any parallels with PF yet? Well, here's some of them. I took the initials of the PF members and created a name from the top of my head for the fictional charaters:

RW= Raoul Wenkerman
RWr= Roenin Wren
DG= Dengo Gilmaris
NM= Nicodemus Mc Mahon
SB= Soldat Bengor

As well as these characters we have:

General Vorshen
General Percival
H. Gerring
V. Waagen
Volfen
Prof. Heckelstein

The Bullring (Dengo's old travelling party)
Vernon King and many others

It is essentially a cross between Nazi Germany and PF with a wierd fantasy and slight sci-fi input as well.

In the meantime, what do you think of the concept?

That might be interesting to see...I'm a fan of science fiction.

Out of curiosity, have you got any ideas as to what happened to the human race, or will you be addressing that?

Also, do make sure Wren and Gilmaris get their fair share eventually. I think it would be sad if they got bashed for the whole book!

Make sure that Nicodemus McMahon doesen't get bashed either...
With a name like McMahon, you know he's gonna be kicking some ass! (McMahon = )

Otherwise... the idea sounds interesting. I will indeed 'watch this space'. Anything involving vultures and PF parallels is bound to turn out interesting.

Haven't been able to reply. The server went down on me again.

Dengo and Roe do get a fair deal (Roe is based roughly on Rick but in the story he's a bit more open than the real one! As for Dengo, well, wait and see.)

It was a bit hard to give McMahon a fair deal though but to be fair he doesn't get involved in the mudslinging at the end. It may seem he gets a raw deal at the beginning but being quiet has its bonuses....

The only one hogging the story (!) is Raoul based on (you've guessed it) RW. He gets too much of a look in but this is reflecting the situation with PF then (after Syd in the story).

As for Sol (or Syd) well its hard to give him a decent portion he disappears as did the real Syd. He does get a fair mention though.

And no I won't be addressing what happened to the human race. It follows after the big event happened and you have to guess.

I'm just typing the first set out at the minute, they will be up soon. I've been collecting ideas for the later ones though by doing some wide reading, esp of Lewis Carroll and Baum (the author of Wizard Of Oz) although there are others. Its just a matter of completing the stories as they're in draft form at the minute.

Oh, for heaven's sake, man/woman/thingy! Enough of the preliminaries, just get on with it.

You are running the risk of all modern film trailers by showing all the best, interesting bits before the full viewing which is invariably a disappointment.

Either you post your first installment (always hated serialized stories) or I will be forced to re-read my own, and that won't be pretty.

What do you mean by "open"? Talkative?

Despite the problem that most of the text spilled over from the edge of the page and required me to do some tedious sideways scrolling, it was enjoyable.

When will we see more?
