I've decided to vote, finally. And my vote goes to WYWH. Just to balance the poll a bit.

WYWH. I like the extended instrumentals...and the tone of the music is more emotional that DSoTM.

Even the title is crap. Gilmour and his lame titles.
"Some of its Parts" --DG's suggested title for "Echoes: The Best Of"

Is that true? I think it's kinda funny. The double meaning of "Some(sum)......". Lame or not, IMO it would have been better than what they used.

And SOYCD, part 9 isn't a serious downer?

Every time I hear the first of a flood of solemn, melancholy notes in that part I am acutely aware that the foregoing musical feast will, as all things must, come to an end. And that last note is just as much a bummer as the first.

Often why I will skip this section, and if on CD, restart the whole thing all over again. Let it loop! Ahhh...that's better.

I think SOYCD part 9 is the best finale of all Floyd albums, with that final chord in major, so beautiful and unexpected. Pure bliss.

Shine On You Crazy Diamond, a song so good they had to divide it into nine parts in order to begin to comprehend its sheer and utter brilliance! If beauty was a song the surely SOYCD is a godess.

BTW, I voted for WYWH for 3 three reasons:

1. SOYCD part 1
2. SOYCD part 2
3. That brilliant solo at the end of Have a Cigar, a great solo which in my opinion is hugely under appreciated because it is overshadowed by the above 1&2 and WYWH.

P.S. I refer to SOYCD as it is on the album of course.

Phew.

Some of the Parts would have been a more fitting title, since Echoes was anything but the best of Pink Floyd. Anything with ABITWpt2 is the best of nothing.

Oh no. I think it would be the best track on The WORST Rock/Pop Singles...EVER! LP.

Right up there with Stevie Wonder's ONLY UK no. 1 hit, I Just Called To Say I Love You Ugh!

So, best of the worst. Always a silver lining.

I voted for DSOTM...but I gotta tell ya. I have never been able to look at my Pink Floyd albums and say..." I like this one more than this one." As a matter of fact, I don't think that in my entire life span I have ever had one thing negative to say about any single aspect of Pink Floyd. I am really racking my brain here, but I cannot come up with anything...

So I came up with my vote by determining which cd I would be most likely to play...DSOTM
