One day, my friend Kaspar and I skipped all our classes and listened to PATGOD, ASOS, More, AHM, Meddle, OBC, DSOTM, WYWH, Animals all in one go and then we watched The Wall movie to cap it all off.

I've done about 12 hours straight but I wasn't really listening to it that much as it was background music whilst doing a rather meaty assignment. I did the whole Shine On boxset in one go listening to it properly mind.

I listened to Piper at the Gates of Dawn, Ummagumma, Meddle, Obscured by Clouds, Animals, Wish You Were Here, Dark Side of the Moon, The Final Cut and the Wall all in one day (not quite in one go- had to take meal breaks!) but it was background music when I was working on a really complicated design so I'm not sure if that counts as listening properly. I don't think I have the time nor the stamina to listen to the whole Floyd collection properly in one go!!! This is what I would end up like ---->

A few months ago I spent about a week of listening to the main albums for about 12-14 hours a day while I worked on a painting. It turned my brain into a mush of paranoic depression for about 3 weeks after. It got me seriously down, but hey, I still put them on now that I'm over it!

I really love the instrumental pieces, such as Any Colour you Like in The Dark Side of the Moon, and Shine On You Crazy Diamond in Wish You Were Here. There is also a lovely acoustic piece at the end of Is There Anybody Out There? in The Wall Pt2. It's abolutely beautiful.

One other thing that is really striking about Pink Floyd's style is their use of an incredible sounded saxphone - The Dark Side of the Moon especially.

Another style that is awesome is the simply rock and roll music sound - Time, Dark Side of the Moon; Young Lust, The Wall pt1; Run Like Hell - just to name a few!
