Re: Band most like Floyd

well since nobody would reply, i will

no band compairs, plain and simple. it looks to me that Radiohead is attempting, and in my OPINION,,,,,, The Moody Blues and a few others have taken a little Pink-Floyd-sound and mixed it into their albums here and there, i.e. 'nights in white satin'.

but yeah, i cant honestly find a good comparison.

dance songs

There are some songs which are are very Floydian - " Silent Lucidity " [Queensryche] which sounds like it came from " the Wall ". " Why Me " & " Static " by Planet P w/ Tony Carey, and " No Quarter " by Led Zeppelin.

Re: Band most like Floyd

Thanks guys - I'll check those out. The Moody Blues I agree with, was listening to an online Pink Floyd radio yesterday and I heard some of their songs and they did sound almost "floydish".

Re: Band most like Floyd

There is a group that does this really awesome spaced-out music at clubs not too far from here. I can't remember the name, but the first time I heard it, I thought immediately of early-Floyd, Barrett era. Good stuff.

Re: Band most like Floyd

I think Queensryche picked up the Floyd baton and carried it forward. I know guitarist Chris DeGarmo was a fan, and thus influenced.

Re: Band most like Floyd

I don't know if anyone agrees, but I think in the way Floyd changed music and all and had a style of their own, TooL does the same thing....Both have used music in ways never heard before as well as use<d> visuals to empahsize the music, making it more than just something to listen to, but also something that captures your mind
