Re: favorite song from "animals"

Unfortunately, you've got problems with this poll.

Animals has five songs on it. The third is titled: "Pigs (Three Different Ones)", and the fifth (which you have omitted) is titled: "Pigs on the Wing, Part 2".

Re: favorite song from "animals"

I agree I noticed this right away, what's up with all of this, ever since I woke up, I've seen his threads, at first I was annoyed, now it feels kind of eerie and surreal.

I think Dogs is the best from Animals.

Oh and who was the guy that used to post polls from 'best song on' or 'worst song on' X album?

Someone should tell him he missed Animals, he (or she?) would have at least posted all 5 songs and not misspelled some.

Also, taking advantage that the poll gives you the chance to put 10 choices. Pigs on the wing 8 track version should be included, since it *was* on the 8-track. But then again, no one would vote for Pigs on the wing 1 or 2.

See ya, relaxxx, I'll need some information first!

Re: favorite song from "animals"

I think he meant Pigs on the Wing as one song. It is kind of silly to put it as 2 since they are almost identical. PIGS(3 different ones) is my favorite. "YOU'RE TRYING TO KEEP OUR FEELINGS OFF THE STREET". Yeah! Even more so today than ever!

Agree. POTW doesn't need to be divided in the 2 parts for the poll. Anyway my vote goes to Dogs.

Re: favorite song from "animals"

OK...I fixed the title for "Pigs (Three Different Ones)". I didn't change "Pigs on the Wing" in case that's what Zabriskie intended, and I didn't want to interfere if that was the case.

Anyway, I selected "Dogs". That's the song that inspired me to take up the guitar.

Re: favorite song from "animals"

I think this is about the 3rd time I've seen this question in my short stint on this board.

I like Sheep. Great pastoral intro with the cool organ over sheep noises, great guitar work by Dave imitating crying & panic-stricken livestock. Tremendous galloping outro guitar solo. I love Dogs too, but sheep is always the one I look forward most to hearing when I put on the CD.

True, stratman. Although I'm not sure how eug'axe feels about it, I'm letting many of these polling topics slide; after all, the poll script did not exist when some of the older threads were posted, and I can understand why people are re-posting some of the "favourite song" topics and the like.

Sorry, F-W, I'm not complaining about it, really. Nor am I criticizing the way you guys run the forums---I understand what you're saying and the problems and considerations involved. It's kinda funny, really, because I never know whether to dredge up an old thread and piss off everyone, or to start a new thread and piss off everyone.

BTW, I never have congratulated you on your promotion to forum honcho! So Congrats!!

Re: favorite song from "animals"

Perhaps the PFfanNet Mod Squad could thrash out, say, ten basic guidelines on Forum Best Practices or Rules of Engagement as it might be helpful to newer visitors and members and relieve some tension for the veterans.

I personally don't mind old or original threads resurfacing so long as the new posts are reasonably on-topic or germain to the evolution. The polls are a good first stop for the ADD crowd, but some form of related-thread tag, where appropriate for referral to an older or related thread, might be useful as well.

My only beef with duplicate threads is they may prevent the newer folk from finding some absolute gems of posts and exchanges amongst this vast collection of PF information, insight and buffoonery.

Shine on!

Re: favorite song from "animals"

It's OK--no offence perceived whatsoever. I never thought you were attacking me...not in the slightest. I just thought it would be good to explain why I do things. I think that in most cases, it's good to be in the open about stuff, because if there's one thing nobody likes, it's an arbitrary dictator!

(Again, I know you never thought anything like that of me.)

<--That should be root beer in my glass!

P.S.--Thanks for the congratulations!

Re: favorite song from "animals"

Maybe there should be a separate forum for the "Favourite x" polls. That would be cool. Very cool indeed.

I voted for Pigs on the Wing (8-Track Version of course). Having the three different tracks as three different choices on a poll would be stupid... it would split the vote and this little song needs all the support (and love!) it can get. Love that little song!
