Best (and Worst) Floyd Mix?

Hello, I was just wondering something.

The Floyd are known for the way that their albums are mixed, with the right use of effects and stereo placement.

So, which album absolutely amazes you when you listen to it on headphones? Which album do you think has the best mix?

On the other hand, which one is horrible or annoying to listen to on headphones? Which do you think is the worst Floyd mix?

I personally have to say that DSOTM is the best Floyd mix. It goes to show that a good amount of stereo effects can produce a great sound.

But the worst for me is The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. That goes to show that too much stereo effects can be very annoying.

I'm afraid I cannot say the best, but the worst is definitely The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn. I actually prefer to listen to my 30th Anniversary Mono edition!!!

for the worst is piper especially interstellar overdrive.... the last 1 and a half minute...
i also dont like ummagumma with the sound effects there...

the best, i think is dark side, especially money and time...
and the sentences in the songs (not the song itself, sentences like : i never said i am afraid of dying) r also a great mix...

is israel considered europe at the matter if the mono edituin of piper?

Saucerful Of Secrets mix is SO annoying, too boomy. Sounds dull and flat. HEY, that's why I don't like it as much as the others! I've only just worked that out. DSOTM is a truly wonderful album in music sense, mixing - everything.

Israel, I think, is still in the Eurovision Song contest. Not that I ever watch it.

And curiously enough, Germany nearly ALWAYS gives Israel top score, and Israel nearly ALWAYS gives Germany top score. Funny, that.

Have I already responded to the on-topic question?

The MFSL DSotM probably comes across as the best mix, although I do gravitate towards the roughly hewn charms of OBC. Shit mix... Hmmm.... although it's technically proficient blah dee blah, I loathe TDB. Why not take all the fire away?

In that case...what fixxlevy said. Honestly, I have never listened to my entire collection for such a distinction, and probably wouldn't anyway, so...what fixx'y said.

Well cheers Byron. I am the Spokeperson for the Older Generation, it appears. It's a sort of honour, but let's not make a habit of it, all you Older Gippers.

Byron's a 'special case'.

That's true, actually.

Fought in the war for the likes of you,
