Sorry

I just thought I was a huge fan until I started reading these forums and now I feel inadequate.
Please, there's no one you'd need to defend yourself against. We don't judge fans by how much they've heard or how new they are; it doesn't make you any "more" or "less" of a fan. You are NOT inadequate.

And welcome to our forum, Huck.

huck476,
It seems you're a huge enough fan as it is, so no worries, mate.

But tell me, when you were ripping your mate's CDs into mp3s, why didn't you rip OBC and MORE? Did he not have those, or did you omit them inadvertently because they were soundtracks?

Meddle...I was 5 or 6 years old...have some older brothers who used to have some cool stuff on vinyl. I had a habit of getting into their collections, not really to piss them off, but because I liked the music.

I heard DSOT then moved on from there. I'd heard some songs on the radio (stay up late to hope to catch 'em though. Radio during the day is generally rubbish) but then I thought 'who the hell are these guys?'

Now I am thoroughly ashamed of my ignorance.

About a year ago(or so), we were having a family BBQ at night. At the time I was really into Heavy Metal, but could never really find a favorite song. Next thing ya know, we bring out a stereo, and my brother has a burned CD, and says to my dad "Hey dad, I am starting to re-download The Division Bell album(our CDs were stolen a couple years ago in our car)", and my dad said "Ah, good album", and my bro put the song High Hopes on. When I heard this song, my bro and my dad were talking, but I was just in a trance because of the music, I was dead silent(which doesn't happen very often). I fell in love with it. So about a day after the BBQ, I was looking in my brother's CDs to find an album, and I saw Dark Side Of The Moon, which I had heard OF, but never listened to. So I popped it in the CD player one night, stuck some headphones on, and was just amazed. The music struck me much better than my old metal, so I asked my brother more about this band, and he let me borrow his copy of Meddle. I loved it even more, so then me and my bro eventually bought the rest of their albums, and I saw The Wall. Now we have all of their albums except that rare singles CD that comes with the Shine On box set, Relics, A Collection of Great Dance Songs, and Zabriskie Point. Plus any bootlegs(I only have one).
