Re: Best Song On Momentary Lapse Of Reason

I voted for On the Turning Away, Yet another movie, Sorrow, learning to fly, and the dogs of war. I think the whole album is pretty good, much better than TDB even though most people don't think so... On the Turning Away and Yet another movie are probably my absolute favs for the album.

i don't really like any of them much. But my favorite would have to be yet another movie.

Learning to Fly kicks ass . On the Turning Away is my personal favorite on that cd, and a lot of the stuff on TDB is better... but I still love the song.

DEFFINITELLY....

Yet Another Movie/Round And Round

This song is absolutely the most underrated song PF ever made...
By the way...never thought that I could actually listen to Pink Floyd giving a credit to heavy music...

This song is a heavy metal opus...or just Pink Floyd..

Rick Wright
Nick Mason
David Gilmour

They surely put glasses on everyone with this one

"Yet Another Movie" and "One Slip" are close, but I think "Learning To Fly" takes the cake.

Learning to Fly and One Slip are the only decent songs on that album. The former is pretty awesome though.

Re: Best Song On Momentary Lapse Of Reason

There are alot of great songs on this album, but I must go with the instrumental Terminal Frost. I really, really like the guitar and guitar solo, and the jazzy sax thrown in the mix. The song has a very 'cold' feel, and it's a great tune.

Re: Best Song On Momentary Lapse Of Reason

I have to go with Learning to Fly. The background vocals are great--almost "Dark Side" caliber.

Re: Best Song On Momentary Lapse Of Reason

I'm going with "On the Turning Away".

It's one of the only songs on the album that feature Dave singing. I mean actually singing, like he did in the Seventies, you know?
Plus the instrumentation is spectacular on that song.

Re: Best Song On Momentary Lapse Of Reason

Yeah, On the Turning Away would be my second choice. LTF just evokes such feeling inside me, you can tell Gilmour wrote it straight from his heart. With OtTA, his inspiration is slightly more distant, as are my emotions regarding it.

As I said earlier. One Slip. Amazing stickwork by Levin.

Re: Best Song On Momentary Lapse Of Reason

Honestly, it's Another Movie for me. I rate it among the best of Pink Floyd's tracks. The sampling of Casablanca was done very nicely, and the atmosphere is something to be lost in. Well done.
