Finally we disagree ol' buddy. I prefer the DSoT version of Learning to Fly, and the PULSE version of Sorrow. Oh well, I still like Guinness!!! ![]()

| Re: Best Song On Momentary Lapse Of Reason Signs Of Life is kind of alright, so that gets my vote. A New Machine was the closest thing to competition, because it's provides a welcome breather amidst the horrible music on the bulk of the album. Sorrow has some good guitar on the introduction, but falls apart all too soon into typical 'Lapse' tedium. I think all in all it's a rather horrible little album, really. It's one I only ever listen to if I'm taking in all fourteen Floyd albums back-to-back (which happens more often than you might imagine). It's the worst of those fourteen by quite some stretch, imo.

| Re: Best Song On Momentary Lapse Of Reason If you think Momentary Lapse is bad, then give Final Cut a spin. Yuck. I think Momentary Lapse is good. Catchy. |

Right. And then, if you think TFC is bad, give Pros and Cons a spin

| Re: Best Song On Momentary Lapse Of Reason Voted for Signs of Life, and On The Turning Away....I also like Sorrow and One Slip. Although I don't listen to it that often, I like it...very relaxing.

| Re: Best Song On Momentary Lapse Of Reason Um, I kind of disagree. TFC beats AMLOR. But P&C is definitely the worst.

A Momentary Lapse Of Reason though I consider bad even for a nadir. I think the likes of David Bowie's Never Let Me Down - released the same year and considered his lowest point by many - to be a far, far better album.

| Re: Best Song On Momentary Lapse Of Reason I think David Bowie's low point was that Tonight album. Sure, it had one catchy song, but the rest was.. well, crap. Even though it was my first Bowie album. |

You will find soon that the Final Cut vs Momentary Lapse debate is an ancient, endless, almost boring story. Who loves the former generally cannot love the latter and viceversa (I am with AMLOR) and I think this is pretty obvious, for a lot of reasons. The funniest side of this debate is, for me, the "I-cannot-believe-you-like-that-pile-of-crap" attitude that most of the fans on both camps show. Enjoy what you like, if it's Pink Floyd it cannot be that bad IMO. ![]()

| Re: Best Song On Momentary Lapse Of Reason Shane, personally I agree that Tonight was worse than Never Let Me Down - though in my opinion his absolute low point was 1997's Earthling - I'd still take either of thse albums over A Momentary Lapse Of Reason with barely a second's thought. Endless 'Final Cut'/'Momentary Lapse' debates seem pretty inevitable, now that you've suggested. They're perhaps the two most polar opposites in Pink Floyd's canon. I suppose it's all about who you dig more - Roger Waters or Duran Duran.

Hi, I'm GeeDub#1, and I'm a recovering Durannie... Oh, my dear, you've just cut me to the quick with that one! LOL And you've got three guesses as to which of those two albums is my favorite. Although, I must confess to the fact that, a couple of years ago, I had such a desire to hear TFC that I had to go out to the local record shop (at about 9:30 pm!) to seek out a copy. Somehow or other I'd gotten the tune for "The Post War Dream" in my head, and the only way I knew to get it out was to actually listen to the song...I'm funny that way sometimes...So, off I went, down to the Blockbuster record shop (yes, it was a Blockbuster, I'm not hallucinating) since they were the only one open and had used CD's, and picked up a copy for about seven dollars. I do listen to it frequently, just not as often as, erm, certain other discs... Oh, and was that a Pulp quote I saw as your signature, there? I like them. ![]() Cheers, GeeDub#1
