Golden Jubilee!

[PARAPHRASE]
Can't believe you haven't begun to talk about this. Well, seems like the subject fits the moment. So this is a thread to post anything and everything you'd like about the 50th anniversary of Her Britannic Majesty The Queen's accession to the throne.

Everything from remembrances to commentaries, post anything you'd like. If you're a UK Royalty nut please share the info, it could become useful. I'm planning on being awarded a knighthood. I want to buy a castle with a music room totally devoted to Pink Floyd.

And as for me, I say God Save the Queen. Yeah, I really mean it, man.

Re: Golden Jubilee!

I saw a bit of the concert, its was really good. I liked the beatles stuff at the end cos the 1st and last songs they did were my fav beatles songs "while my guitar gently weeps" and "hey jude"

The fire works and the light fx were good too

Re: Golden Jubilee!

Sadly, the program won't be on here in the States until this Sunday, on crappy VH1...which switches to Comedy Central at 3 pm in my local area. So even more sadly, I'm doomed to miss it just as I have any other interesting musical program on VH1 post 3 o'clock (which is rare). I did see the commercials, and I was excited to see Clapton and Elton and all that...Paul, even, too...but I really wanted to see Queen (themselves)...although I've only seen Brian May...no Rog, and certainly no Deacon...drag.

Re: Golden Jubilee!

mad yannis,

Well obviously not many people of the former Roman Empire probably give a f*ck, but several million subjects and citizens of the former British Empire, now the Commonwealth apparently still give quite a f*ck. Just thought you'd like to know.

The best bits of the Pop concert in Her Nibs' back garden was Brian May's Hendrix-esque playing of God Save The Queen standing alone atop Buckingham Palace, Eric Clapton and Paul McCrapney's already-mentioned tribute to George Harrison with While My Guitar Gently Weeps, and Ozzy Osbourne's excellent but sadly short BS standard.

The whole country has gone absolutely mental these past few days with London, so far, putting on the best show... of course.

Re: Golden Jubilee!

thorin, I used that moniker for the Fab way back in the "Paul is dead, miss him..." bollocks thread. Again, you were dozing.

p.s. clean out your PM inbox so you can receive.
