Incredible... was is i feel a very understated word for something as majestic as the himalayas... Imagine thumping away on a Royal Enfield bike at the highest motorable road 18k+ feet high... walking the dangerous crevasses of the huge glaciers... Just awesome... no wonder it captivated me for 7 months... phew... I already have rehab woes... its like an addiction (The Himalayas).

The feeling's amazing... you on your own... nothing costs much, no credit card dues, no buggers bugging you about how you are are what you do... you're just plainly yourself in that crisp, fresh air... Breath... Breath in the Air........ Wowww... Can't stop exclaiming.

You've got good lungs, Advyth.

Giving up smoking helped...

Also... i keep trekking... the bike had some breathing problem though... it seems it needed leaner air flow at that altitude...

But yeah... everything seems too damn tough to do... when you're at that height...

Overall... its a lifetime experience... worth every lung full of oxygen

Cheers!

Re: The "What Ever Happened To...?" thread.

Just in case anyone was wondering where I had been for the last few months (i'm not even sure how many months i was gone) I'll tell you all my story.

All through high school I've always said that I didn't want to be a music major in college because I always thought i'd find something that i'd like just as much and could make more money with. Well long story short, in about november of 2004 (my senior year), inspired by my new band director who had a story very similar to mine, i realized all i can see myself doing is music. So I'm going to major in music education, and I'll be a band director in a high school some day. I've played guitar for 10 years and percussion for almost 9, but as far as pursuing college I knew i'd be percussion all the way.

The new problem however, was that percussion majors audition on snare, timpani, and marimba. I've studied snare and timpani since i began high school, but i'd never played a marimba or xylophone more than just tinkering around a bit. So i spent the winter shacked up playing my drum teachers marimba all the time. Long story short, I got pretty good at marimba and I've been accepted everywhere I've auditioned now, and I'm 99 % sure that I'm going to go to Rowan University, its in south jersey not far from where i live. They are one of the top music schools in the area and have an excellent percussion department.

besides the college auditions, i also auditioned for all south jersey band in december on snare, and placed 2nd. They accept 3 snares so I got to play in that and it was amazing how much better the quality of musicans is at that level than in a high school band. So because I made all south i auditioned for all state band in january and placed 3rd, so once again i made it. That was amazing, and we performed at the NJPAC. It was packed, and definitely the biggest crowd i've ever performed in front of. Those were probably 2 of the most amazing experiences I've had so far.

So, now I'm playing in the orchestra pit for my school's musical The Musicman. I had a rehearsal tonight and the shows are this weekend, so finally i will have time to relax again once its done. It's been a crazy and stressful past few months, but now its done and i'm ready to chill until college.

So yea, i'm glad to be back, if anyone actually cares and read all that!

Nice job Goofy

Advayth - do you own the Bullet or did you rent it? The few times I've been there, I rented it from Delhi and rode it all the way up. I was supposed to go to Hemkund Sahib last year but the weather (and the Army) closed it off

Glad you enjoyed NH-1
