| Empire Strikes Back/Pink Floyd Song Hey everyone. What's up? I'm bored and have no life, so I've decided to cut Empire Strikes Back to a Pink Floyd song. I'm striving to find a song where the lyrics generally fit. Any suggestions? |

| Re: Empire Strikes Back/Pink Floyd Song No idea, Axe, sorry. But I can relate. Out of sheer boredom on a flight, I once set Wish You Were Here to the inflight flick "Rush Hour 2". Didn't work out too well. Eh. ![]() |

| Re: Empire Strikes Back/Pink Floyd Song Ditto...likewise a good television re-run either...I believe the last one I saw was Family Ties...think that was it...the one with the dancing imp...Michael J. Fox, that's him. I always get that one and Growing Pains mixed up. |

| Re: Empire Strikes Back/Pink Floyd Song On the original topic, I think some of the more atmospheric Pink Floyd is very well suited to Science Fiction / Fantasy type movies. I think someone else said (I can't remeber where abouts) that some Floyd songs would suit Lord of The Rings, and I agree. As to the question, I think the following would be useful in empire or LOTR: Shine One (the moody atmospherics in the instrumental parts would suit many scenes); Echoes (maybe not as much as shine on); Signs of Life (Good one); Sorrow (excellent for scenes of despair / desolation); Terminal Frost (some may disagree...but I'm sure my good mate Terminalfrost will agree!!); Great Gig; On the Run. That is just my opinion anyway. Those songs seem to lend themselves best to my imagination...a lot of Pink Floyd's other stuff is more firmly rooted in a particular theme (animals, the Wall, even Division Bell) which is more difficult to use as sound track to fantasy style movies. That is all.
