Your set list

What songs would you pick(10 or 12) if you could write a set list for Waters current tour. This is not meant to be your favorite songs but ones you think Waters sounds good singing and playing with his band. For instance, I love Wish You Were Here but Waters version is not my favorite and I would rather hear him do the Final Cut if I had to pick one.

This is like one set so don't list the ones he HAS to play like Brain Damage...Eclipse...ABITW2....Comfortably numb... Money etc.

The Final Cut
Two suns in the sunset
What god wants
Gunners dream
Home
Amused to death
Mother
One of my turns
Pigs,Dogs or Sheep
Have a cigar
Bravery of being out of range
Watching tv
Running Shoes or Pros and cons

I'm going to post songs I would have liked to have heard on In The Flesh, because some of the ones you mentioned (Mother, Dogs, ATD) he played on ITF.

ok, here it goes:

- Your Possible Pasts or The Final Cut
- The Gunner's Dream
- The Fletcher Memorial Home
- Not Now John
- Two Suns in the Sunset
- Sheep
- Have A Cigar
- Pigs (3 Different Ones)
- Hey You
- Run Like Hell
- Home
- The Tide is Turning
- The Pros And Cons Of Hitchiking
- Sexual Revolution
- What God Wants (1&2)

Oh and pigs on the wing 8-track version, there was just NO excuse, he had Snowy White right there beside him on the whole tour, why not play the extended version??

That's about it, you limited me to 12, I put 15, so I'm going to just quit. These things are always hard.

That's probably a better idea.

Uhm, interesting question.
Actually I would have liked a lot something like this (other than the ones he DID play, and granted that some versions, like WYWH as Sarah said, were unsatisfying):

The Thin Ice
Goodbye Blue Sky
Grandchester Meadows
Free Four
Your Possible Pasts
If
The Gunner's Dream
One of My Turns
What God Wants I
Late Home Tonight I & II
Nobody Home
What God Wants III
The Final Cut
Two Suns in the Sunset
Hey You
Pigs (3DO)

And of course, as Bertin said:

That's it, I think thta with such songs in the setlist the shows would have been a little bit less predictable, and maybe also less Floyd-imitating. Anyway, the show WAS great and I loved every minute of it.

I agree that the ITF version of WYWH was lacking. Only Dave can do the song right. (the Scat-singing-to-his-guitar part, which HAS to be there).

OK, RW set list:

When the Tigers Broke Free
The Gunner's Dream
The Final Cut
Empty Spaces/What Shall We Do Now?
Hey You
Four Minutes
Two Suns In The Sunset
The Tide is Turning
The Bravery Of Being Out Of Range
Watching TV
If

I would have listed Not Now John, except that's another that wouldn't be right without Dave on vocals.

I remember that Not Now John really stuck out when I first listened to The Final Cut. It's the only Gilmour vocal on the album, I believe.

Dave sings the first 3 verses, and Rog everything else, including the last verse and the outro ranting-in-tongues. And true, it is Dave's only vocals on the whole album. I always thought Dave sounded mad as hell; prob 'cause he was ready to punch out Rog.

For starters, the entire show, except for the song "Set the Controls", would be TFC forward. Otherwise, I get too much of a nostalgia for "the way things used to be". Not to mention that I think there are some good things from this group that he ignored and should've played...

Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun
The Gunner's Dream
The Final Cut
Every Stranger's Eyes
Home
Four Minutes
The Tide is Turning
What God Wants, Parts 1, 2, and 3
Each Small Candle
Flickering Flame
