Re: Theory (or prophecy...) of Pink Floyd in 2003

Oh Lord, those shifting sands again! It's all too pat and convenient for my liking.

My expression is not bitterness but exasperation at the mindless, arrogant rubbish being spouted in the name of religion, oh sorry Bud (now known as Jordan?), in the name of What God Wants - R. Waters

Re: Theory (or prophecy...) of Pink Floyd in 2003

i went back in time because thanks to a person going by the name of A Talking Head, these types of conversations existed. so it was kind of like deja vu.

Botley, its Lucifer Sam Radio, as in Lucifer Sam's Psychedelic Breakfast, my radio show.

And Byron, my name is Jordan, I'm afraid I don't know of anyone named Bud, except Bud Shannon, I used to play little league for him when I was a child. Other than that, I'm pretty much lost.

Well.....

Well guys and gals, I hope this deja vu "Bud" guy was a good guy, and not some poser claiming Christianity and being disrespectful.

Yeah well, whatever. You are whomever you say you are and within this medium, no-one can disprove whatever you say. It may be believed, it may not. It matters not.

I shall be glad to discuss and debate and, yes, even argue anything with you except religion, and probably politics, as is the wish of this site's founder and administrator, Paulo Dallagnol. So please, no more. Believe what you will, but preach to others elsewhere. Thanks.

Shine on!
Byron

Re: Theory (or prophecy...) of Pink Floyd in 2003

Alright, but I don't see what's so wrong with talking about Christianity, or even being one. LOL, if I have to be a martyr for my beliefs then so be it. And I agree with you about politics. My father thinks that Bush was involved with a lot of what happened last year. But of course I know differently. Thanks for being understanding, but I still don't see why good ol' Paulo would refuse to allow me the freedom of religion as long as I'm not abusing it by trying to "force" it on to someone. But I do love God, and I think that nothing should jeopardize it.

P.S. My name is Jordan, its on all of my legal documents .

Re: Theory (or prophecy...) of Pink Floyd in 2003

Well, I'll tell you. The OWNER of the site has advised us to take religious discussion elsewhere. He does not want it here, and since in here HE is the final authority, his wishes have to be respected. This site isn't America and the rights you enjoy there, if any, happily hold no sway in this, Paulo's domain.

A Talking Head apparently loved God too, but his manner - much like yours - was not conducive to proper debate - he, again like you, rankled a lot of non-Christian sensibilities - so Paulo nipped it in the Bud. Very punny.

Your religious freedom here does not extend to alienating those who do not share your beliefs, and the constant references thereto DOES constitute throwing it in others' faces. If you don't like this set-up, please feel free to take yourself to a more religiously amenable place. We'll probably miss you...a little.

Factual Floydian,
Byron

Re: Theory (or prophecy...) of Pink Floyd in 2003

Well, I'll respect Paulo's requests, BUT, stop thinking that saying one's a christian doesn't mean they make mistakes. Just because I'm a christian doesn't make me perfect or free of doing the wrong thing at the wrong time. Get used to it, we all suffer and act poorly at times. So the discussion stops here.
