Post Post your favorite quote or maxim.

This forum community has become very popular indeed. And as I am to know a little about humanity, I'm sure that people suffer from depression, seperation, or any other everyday problem. Pick your favorite maxim (philosophy), quote (Pink Floyd or someone meaningful to you), or come up with your own, so that people seeking answers and don't have anywhere to turn can find a little golden nugget of hope.
Cheers,
lucifersam

"its your thing do what you want to do, i can't tell you who to sock it to."

or

"be cool, swim in a pool" (a local thing about keeping kids from swimming in canals cause its dangerous. but of course kids only listen to oversized talking animals so they hired dippy duck to say those words)

here is a pic: he used to be a pirate when i was a kid, then he wore a tie, now this

Heres a few ODD quotes:

-"A person who thinks he/she knows life's meaning, has no idea at all".

-"Signs of weakness in a human mind mean that this individual is strong, for those who have no feelings, can never enjoy happiness".

-"Its been said that people learn all the time, but in fact,it's all about human's adaptation to the environment, learning is a part of it".

The next one is a classic!

-"The end is the beginning of the end"

"Living is a priviledge, and death is an honor".

Well Lost For Words is under-rated (all Waters fans tend to hate this to the core of the earth).I like all Pink Floyd music except Ummagumma studio and Piper.

An album was dedicated in this way: "To all those brave enough to face their past". It seems very simple at first, but when you really reflect on what that takes, and how you do that, it turns into a LOT more...

There are many others...but I can't think of them all right now, so I just put the one that has been the most meaningful to me personally.

[This post edited by FloydWright due to the fact that the post consisted of the first twelve chapters of either Das Kapital or the Communist Manifesto, and was inconveniencing the board through extreme download delays.]

I always liked the "Desiderada":

On a more humorous note: (W C Fields)
"I'd rather have 2 girls @ 21 each than 1 @ 42."
"Everyone must believe in something---I believe I'll have another drink."
(Epitaph) "All things considered, I'd rather be in Philadelphia."

"Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana."(Groucho Marx)
"I never put off til tomorrow what I can do the day after." (Oscar
Wilde)

'Those who cannot learn from the past are condemned to repeat it.'

This hold true. I know by experience.

Oh, my goodness, Euphen...

Is there any way you could just cut that down to a small section? That is a terrible drain on those of us who have lower bandwidth...

Done, Strat.

I felt bad about doing it after trying to give the person fair warning, but I realised that the delay on this thread was just absurd. You were right.
