Does anyone else get a weird feeling when the hear Syd Barrett's songs?

ok im only 14 os bare with me if i make tons of mistakes and it makes no sense...


ok...My name is Shawn...and i am stuck in the whole doors early pf and beatles musci era...the whole LSD age and stuff but only syd and Mr.Mojo Rising giv eme thsi strange feeling when i hear there songs...like i dont know how to expline it...does anyone else get thsi way?

i get a little teary eyed cause i know how everything turned out. especially when hearing the last lines from "she took a long cold look"

Now, on to your query. Firstly, I hope you're only LISTENING to the LSD/psychedelic era music and not indulging in actual misuse. You'll really f**k up your head if you start that crap so early.

Do you mean "good" strange feeling, or "bad" strange? A lot of Syd's solo stuff is at best, raw and some almost unlistenable (if that's a word), but if it's a good strange feeling, don't fight it.

Just go with the Floyd flow.

I think 14 is a bit young for the LSD, friend. Do be careful. Most of that crap is not pure lsd which is dangerous enough. Anyway, I am not the one to tell you what's wrong or what's right.

Syd and 'Mojo' are both considered crazy by society's standards. Society is the craziest thing I've ever seen. Some people seem to emit a special energy that they picked up from somewhere 'out there'. Like the cosmos. They are both good at transmitting feelings that seem to go way beyond this life. Does that sound corny? I tried.

It really is beautiful. One of my favorite Barrett songs. Sad beauty. Why does the girl gaze all over his arm?

Yeah...sometimes I get unnerved as I listen to his work. Hard to explain, really--it's just that it's very haunting, for lack of a better word.
