Re: About Pedge...

This morning Pedge posted a gracious compliment to the US soccer team for beating Mexico. (World Cup thread)
(I cheerfully accepted it on behalf of the USA)

I was thinking of you when I wrote that, but it was NOT meant as a snub. I was actually paying respect to your special status as a YankBrit, wherin you are far more in tune with the goings-on of the World soccer kingdom than we state-bound drools. i.e., I was speaking for those of us who don't know which end of a soccer ball to sit on.

BTW, Heavy avatar! (trying to revive some 70's lingo)

Re: About Pedge...

Well in that case, stratman, my man, no offense taken.

Actually, what I know about football (Aussie rules, American or "proper" aka Soccer) could fit in a Tom Thumb egg cup. What I care about it could fit in an even smaller vessel.

All I know is, where I live it's safer for me to support Arsenal when they win, and keep my doors locked and head down when they lose. It ain't pretty. :o

At the moment my loyalties are split between Eng-a-Land and America. I was expecting Mexico to thrash America, but they lost!

If the Yanks get through and the Brits get ousted by Brazil, I shall be very surprised indeed.

p.s. It's groovy you think my (APFFN Freeby) avatar is far out!
