Assonance between "Mother-live" and "Pigs on the wing"

Hi everybody, I want to know if I'm the only one who hear an almost identical assonance (of guitar chords) between the fantastic "Mother" version live in ITAOT The Wall Live and "Pigs on the wing" on Animals...

Thanks and Shine on!!

Nah, I don't think they sound alike. Similar, yes, but there is a difference.

They are similar in the sense they both start of with a fewmeasures of C's and G's, but Pigs on the Wing has much more as far as cord progression goes.

I noticed In The Flesh seemed to be present on that album also.

Also in the fantastic Rog album "Amused to death" you can hear something from "Animals"

Alot of Roger Waters songs revolve around G C chord progressions.

At the first timeI heard "Pigs on the Wing", after having heard "Mother" in ITAOT I surely thought that there was an assonance, not identical, as you said, but very close. Of course it's because the C's and G's, that make up most of both of the musics, but as I got to hear them I started pointing the differences, and after hearing it many times, they're two entirely different musics to my ears.
BTW, is it only my disc (or the discs distributed in Brazil), or is there a huge noise in the the whole ITAOT, specially in "Mother", at Gilmour's verses?

They may have the same chords but don't sound alike at all.

Well, when they are the only two chords you know you have a tendency to use them a lot

Now If Dave would have written them............

I never compared Mother and POTW back to back, but I always thought the beginnings didn't only have the same chords, but also a very similar rhythm. And in both tracks there are changes between 4- and 3-measures.
By the way, I'm talking about "Mother" on "The Wall" (the studio version). I don't remember whether the version on ITAOT is different.

And something else:

1. The rhythm and feel of "Pigs (Three Different Ones)" reminds me a lot of "Have A Cigar".
2. The guitar rhythm during the verses of "Another Brick In The Wall pt. 2" is very similar to that in the beginning of "Dogs".
