| Re: Is the song wywh about Syd or a soldier in the vitnom (sp) war Sorry to get back to the topic, guys (I can see how much you all so enjoy rambling on ) but in my opinion and from what I've read, WYWH is about absence (obviously), but absence of the band and their motivation. DSOTM had a dramatic effect on the guys, I mean, suddenly they were plunged into pop stardom like never before, and it was all too much for them. They went on vacation for a while to calm themselves and straighten out their priorities, but when they went back to the studio, that little certain something was missing...they were back in body but not in spirit, you know? This was also the time when everything started to fall apart; Rogers domination, in-group hostility, etc. So yeah, WYWH is definetely about all levels of absence, but I believe it's very much the absence of the group's former drive and commraderie (sp?)...Any other thoughts?
