Although I am too big of a wimp to watch The Shining..I will agree with you there...Jack is awesome...I love every movie he's ever been in..I did watch Terms of Endearment the other day..
Yes, it's a chick flick.

The Shining was scary.

I was always partial to Night of The Living Dead myself. And also Texas Chainsaw Massacre, though a lot of the people i know have a habit of bashing it.

Hey, Icarus: I dig Night of the Living Dead, too. Not a half-bad film for the budget it had.
And I also liked Texas Chainsaw Massacre. That was some pretty scary stuff.

As for The Shining, I read the book and loved it; but I have not gotten around to watching the film.

I tell you... Scream did scare the crap out of me. I only watched the first scene, where the Drew Barrymore character (unfortunately) gets killed. I nearly pissed myself, and had to stop watching it (I wish there was an 'embarrassed' smiley right now). However, I was only 10 or 11, so I was more sensitive to that kind of stuff then.

Drew Barrymore fan, eh? I really don't think she's all that attractive, nor that great of an actress. She will forever live in my mind as the little girl from ET.

I agree with y'all who think "The Shining" was scary. I can't think of another movie that had such subtle, yet chilling stuff in it. Like the scene chariz mentioned about Jack furiously typing his novel, then you see it's hundreds of pages of "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy"over and over..... And that part about the old dead lady in the bathtub in room 516 or whatever.
Yeah, that movie is a classic. I think I'll go rent it and watch it again.

Hmmm...very QTPP (quick to poo-POO) our lovely Drew. Admittedly she's had some turkeys but I think having started so young and continued her career thus far, she could act your butt off any sound stage for a dare.

She was good in The Wedding Singer at least, and Girls On Top with Whoopi and the whitest woman in America whose name for the female genitalia was "sissy" and "woo-woo". Then the Whoopster taught her the dreaded "c"-word, shouting it from the rafters.

charizmapf28: Mt. Home, Idaho (neither in the mountains nor anyplace like home) and RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk, UK ("if your wings don't sweep, you aint shit"). A few hurricanes in the Gulf, no?

The Shining? You babies. How could you ever be scared of a thing like that? Written by that Stephen King guy isn't it.

Byron: Thanks for sticking up for me!

I think Drew is very attractive, especially in The Wedding Singer. Damn!

Any of you guys seen a Taiwanese film called 'Audition'? You'll come out of that feeling somewhat 'raw'.

i wouldn't doubt that Drew could out act me. I think a paper bag with a face drawn on it could most days. But, I just have never enjoyed her.

Frankly, David Lynch and Jon Waters have both created some scary shit. The one on purpose, the other by accident.

Yes, I'm talking of Kubrick's film of course. I'm a great fan of King, Kubrick and Nicholson, which is definitely my favourite actor; great movie.

im not one for Stanley Kubrick (more pointedly put- i think he was a big pervert who just got older and more perverted towards the end of his life, and his film-making career)

the shining was pretty scarey... but i got more freaked out by other films... i havent seen the shining in a while tho

i hated the candy man... *shudders* but i was only 13 when i saw that... hehe... not too fussed on seeing it a second time to get a more updated opinion tho!

and i think Drew is the best well... maybe not the best... but pretty cool, anyway. I love the wedding singer its on tommorow night! yay!! hehe...

.. dont mind me... im just a craizy daizy

Re: Hall8ween: Ressurection? Bah Humbug...

Now now now, let's not forget the Evil Dead series. However, it might be more of a gross-out type of thing than horror.

"Bastards, why do you torture me like this?"
-Ash (from Evil Dead)

"Because you're so stupid."
-Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead commentary track)
