| Hall8ween: Ressurection? Bah Humbug... I don't know, I absolutely, positively, without bound love the first and second Halloween movies. I feel very sad that John Carpenter decided against producing more, though after the bomb that was Season of The Witch (though I understand how he wanted to vary things a little like a Twilight Zone deal, not always sticking to the Myers storyline) I don't blame him for leaving. The rest of the series were a mockery of themselves, but still pretty cool. I felt they were all done in the fashion of Friday the 13th, which in itself was a spoof of Halloween (IMO the only true and tasteful slasher movie, next to Texas Chainsaw Massacre), so Halloweens 4-6 were just spoofs of themselves...ugh. But anyhow, I like to think that the series goes from 1 to 2 and then straight to H20, because then that way one doesn't have to wrap their minds around the whole Thorn curse plot and can just leave it at, "Well, why does he kill people? Ohh...he's just crazy." Which is so much easier..simplicity is always classic in design. Anyway, not to stray off topic, I saw the trailer for the new Halloween movie, and it looked like it might suck...terribly. And I really had hope for this one, too. It does have Busta Rhymes in it, though I'm not sure if we should hold that against him or not, and I think some other names (Tyra Banks?) as well. But it did have Jamie Lee Curtis set to return, which really bums me out if it ends up sucking. Allright, so I suppose I'd just like your thoughts on it, and if at all possible, maybe site your fav. out of the series. Last edited by Wing'd Icarus : 06-24-2002 at 12:41 PM. |

| Re: Hall8ween: Ressurection? Bah Humbug... England in the 2002 world cup. The manager quits and so they decide to bring in an idiot to coach them. And well, its rubbish. (I need more practice being horrible about things so when something that really deserves it, I can give it the full works of .... horribleness)

| Re: Hall8ween: Ressurection? Bah Humbug... Here's the scene: Rantoul, Illinois, home of Chanute AFB, where I was stationed after completing Boot Camp in 1978, it's July, ATMs have just come out and Disco and Rod's Do You Think I'm Sexy and crater-face's Three Times A Lady dominate the pop charts, and I have discovered a secret talent for pinball in the dorm basement Rec' Room. So, my assigned Tech Training "Counsellor" discovers my love of the movies and suggests a visit to the local (13 miles away) cinema in Champaign-Urbana. Our first foray was to a Pink Panther film which he liked more than I. But our second trip was to see the new Halloween film, talked about all over the base and even back home in Los Angeles. Pretty good scary movie with the quirky, himself downright creepy, Donald Pleasance and the cute, sweet Jamie Leigh. Very good horror premise, but I got REALLY very very annoyed with our heroine in being just too damned thick for her own good. I mean, how many times does a body have to be stabbed with a huge chef's knife and still get up before one realises dropping the knife is no longer a good idea. And anyway, if the fecker keeps getting up to chase you, it would seem to me time to get the feck out of Dodge. Arseholes and elbows time.

| Re: Hall8ween: Ressurection? Bah Humbug... well, i tell ya what...when a psychopathic killer with a butcher knife comes after you, you can do whatever you want, but until then, Jamie Lee..or Laurie, I guess, did what she had to do....btw, Champaign's very close to me, I'm over in Bloomington...well, I mean, I wasn't there in 1978. I always found it odd that a lot of major scary stuff happens in Illinois...I mean, Jason, Halloween, Roseanne... |

| Re: Hall8ween: Ressurection? Bah Humbug... Why didn't you include a "I hate idiotic thrasher movies with easy to predict outcomes" option on the poll?
