The best song that PF wrote post 1985

HI

What do you think was the best song that Gilmour, Mason and Wright wrote after the official departure one of the founder members George Roger Waters.

Is it 'Sorrow' or 'Take It Back'? Or maybe 'High Hopes' does it for you. Give your opinions here!!

Pink Floyd's post 1985 songs

I agree with your last post. Except for 'Wearing The Inside Out ' I don't think that Anthony Moore or Richard Wright are lyricaly talented or musically talented. (Apart from Rick's keyboard playing.) Gilmour was the best lyric writer post-1985 and the best music writer since 1968.

I wonder who wrote Great Gig In The Sky, Us & Them; large parts of Shine On, Echoes, Time, Marooned and a significant number of other Floyd classics... but well, to each their own.

Re: The best song that PF wrote post 1985

I would probably go with On the Turning Away. I like the lyrics, the music and the overall feel of the song. Oddly enough, my least favorite song from this era is Coming Back to Life which has a similar beginning. The cheesy music that kicks in after a few versus is worse then a Julia Roberts movie.

come on! coming back to life sure have a kinda cheezy beat but the lyrics are so deep, very near to me. the mood of that song is fantastic. nothing to do with a julia robert movie.

Bah...I just can't get into that song. Oh and by the way...a friend of my uncle's step nephews cousins roommates bosses hairdresser's neighbor told me that Dave was watching Pretty Woman when he wrote that song and that he he plans to have a big floating Julia Roberts in the air (since he can't use the pig) when they play that song live during their reunion tour in 2004.

since that reunion won't happen, dave will store that floating julia roberts beside the floating richard gere they were suppose to let fly while playing on the turning away.

I though the floating Richard Gere was used for Pigs on the Wing.... Oh wait... Rog Waters just looks like Gere in the ITF video.... Never mind..

High Hopes - It is my all time favorite PF song. On a musical and personal level.

In fact I was just listening to it and that is what brought me here!
