Arrow Songs on your funeral (you know you want to!)

I think most of us have thought about this at some point in our lives, egocentric as we all can be I'm no different, I used to wallow in that kinda stuff when I was feeling bitter and pitying myself etc. Nowadays I'm a pretty chipper guy so it's not as important as it used to be but I just thought about it and it would be fun to see other people's choices.

I just realized that it's really hard to find a Floyd piece that would fit - I mean they all sound pretty bitter and resentful and so on. Maybe Shine on, but then the average Joe would probably fall asleep during the intro. Echoes? Maybe so.

Actually, Street Spirit (fade out) /Radiohead would be my choice. What a perfect last message "Immerse your soul in love" from me to the world.

Cheers.

Uhh...ummm....."You Can't Always Get What You Want" by the Stones, off Let It Bleed...like that scene in the Big Chill...as much as I detest the plot of that movie, I love the soundtrack. Also, the beginning scene was my favourite, for a.) that song and b.) Kevin Bacon was dead!

My funeral tunes...

Honestly, I don't want my death to be a bitter affair. Hell, I'd love it if it could be a 24-hour freak-out just like the early days of Floyd or even the Dead. And I believe a friend of mine had a great idea when he played "Stairway to Heaven" during the obituaries while he worked at the radio. And to think, some jerk-offs actually complained and had him fired. I think that song is beautiful, man.

At my funeral I would love to have either "Stairway to Heaven", "Shine on You Crazy Diamond", "Wish You Were Here", Bittersweet Symphoney", or "Kiss My Ass" by Ted Nugent playing. And then I'd love to have Pink Floyd play my funeral, that'd be really great . And I would love it if everyone I knew would just throw one monster kegger-LSD-Mary Jane-freak-out rave in my honor for a day, or maybe even a weak. Hey, I'll be happy, so I want all to be happy as well. Because there is no reason to let death stop the living. Am I right?
God bless,

sure...death should be celebrated, though i don't know if it should be 'celebrated' that hard Now, down in Louisiana where they have those processions down the street like a parade, dancing and playing music...that's the way to go.

and Another One Bites The Dust was such a damn good idea, it should have been mine.

I think someone famous already did this before, but I think I would have the Beatles' "A Day in the Life" played at my funeral.

At Douglas Adams' funeral they played Imagine, Hey Jude, Drive My Car and Paperback Writer. Not bad.

I go for "The Snow Goose" by Camel. It's an instrumental album.

Beautiful Music.

Though, I am listening to "Dogs" now. Haven't heard "Animals" in ages. It's good to listen to it again. I don't think I could make up my mind about a song in particular by Pink Floyd.

Anyways, I leave my dead body to the medical world. My Love can play "The Snow Goose" somewhere deep in the Forest, as a memorial tribute or so...

Yeah I used to think about this in my darker days as well. I don't really mind now....hell....I won't be around to hear it will I!!!!

A few years ago I probably would have said "Brothers In Arms"...so I'll run with that.

I'd like to go for the obvious:

Elton John's "Funeral For a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding"

It'd be cool to have all that synthesizer in "Funeral" blaring in a cemetary.
