there is a lot....A LOT of good recent music out there, it seems that none of it is mainstream, however. most of you will have to try this new music with open arms or you definitely wont like it, because most of it doesn't resemble the music from pink floyd's era. the 60s and 70s set a standard for music, no doubt. some bands to check out that haven't died from drug overdoses or old age: -The Walkmen -Spoon -Radiohead (if you haven't already) -Massive Attack -Kings Of Leon -Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds -Beck -Johnny Marr & The Healers -Sigor Ros -The Flaming Lips -Richard Ashcroft (ex-verve) -The Shins -Tool ---& theres more....our generation does have something to be proud of musically...dont let anyone tell you otherwise

Yes, there is still good music being made. Radiohead is going to release a new album soon - I'm confident that it will be f**king great. Queens of the Stone Age is another great band; their latest album (with the great Dave Grohl on drums) is class. And pop is becoming original, too. Her name is Avril Lavigne. You may not like her music or the way she acts, but she is all-original in the pop world, I believe. Nice voice, lovely look. She's worth any attention you may want to give her.

Me too, in my own most gracious and humble way. Don't forget the Bunnymen, they may not be new anymore but they can still kick your ass.

Are The Prodigy still around? They've been pretty quiet lately if they are.

I think they released an album last year. They haven't broken up, I'm sure.

Comments On The Walkmen Speaking of new music of quality - Has anyone else heard of/enjoy The Walkmen's music? Their album "Everyone Who Pretended To Like Me Is Gone" and if you haven't heard it you should check it out. You may recognize the song "We've Been Had" from a recent Saturn commercial. 3 members from Jonathon Fire Eater are in the band. They sound a lot like U2 and have also been compared to The Cure, Bjork, Joy Division, and even Springsteen. I thought this would be a good band to tell you guys about because a lot of their music sends the message of enjoying life for the moment and not putting so much focus on the past (ahem). As a a teenager, hearing the excess of crap thats on the radio today pisses me off because I always thought it would be cool to live during the Pink Floyds and The Led Zeppelins. I would do anything to be able to see a live Pink Floyd concert while they were in their prime. I want to have some music to be proud of when I'm old - like you guys I say revolution! Let me know what you think or instant message me via AIM (uncletony0028)
