Is it just me, or does most new music suck ass?

dear CleggHead, your written word just proove that you are in hands of dangerous mtv company, and absolutely have no idea that there are other "places" where you can find VERY good music

you are either too lasy or hm... just casue you don't know any good group it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist...anyway if you dojn't likke that blink1 why do keep listening and judging upon their songs?

There have been amazing albums released. In just the past five years we've had gems from bands like:

Coldplay, The Mars Volta, The White Stripes, Radiohead, Built to Spill, Sparklehorse, Beck, Ben Kweller, Broken Social Scene, Clinic, Do Make Say Think, Flaming Lips, Minus The Bear, Hot Hot Heat, Murder By Death, The Music, The Postal Service, Death Cab For Cutie, Sigur Ros, Sleater Kinney, The Walkmen, Cursive, Damien Rice, the Decemberists, The Zutons, Metric, Muse, The Notwist, The Shins, Franz Ferdinand, Earlimart, Interpol, Kasabian, M83, Secret Machines, Bloc Party, Saosin, Circa Survive, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, LCD Soundsystem, Sufjan Stevens. And those are just the ones I own!!!

Oh, but wait, these bands aren't on MTV so they don't exist.

Exactly! I just read through this read and it made me physically sick. Some of the most ignorant posting I've seen on a forum to date (except from the ones who recommended great new bands). There's probably more good music now than there was then. I'm sick of classic rock.

Since you mentioned them in the first place, Coldplay are beginning to suck with their too much repeative stuff
Death cab for a cuite are nothing special or so much worth listening to...

Don’t get me wrong there are lots of good bands nowadays (like i mentioned before), just turns out that some are stepping into dark side ---> coldplay..a bit of dissapointment

As for classical rock and stuff...
I don;t listen only to “rock” music so definattely i see your point i think i couldn’t face the day if there weren’t beck or ladytron or sigur ros...

I like Coldplay's music. If you don't, well, have no fear, they'll be back one day.

I like Coldplays song I just wish they would stop rereleasing it.

I agree that there are many great new bands, but unfortunately most of the muisc its just pure noise (bloody punk, although there are some good "punk" bands like Franz ferdinand), all just commercial... but rock n roll will never die

None of the bands I listed were punk, though some of them are fairly "sonic" so they might seem like noise to you. I don't think most of them are commerical either.

You, my friend know where it's at.. and there are some bands on there that I've never heard of, so I'm gonna have to check it out.. but yay!

I'm actually rather proud of the music that's being produced by my generation, there is a lot of really amazing stuff out there.. you just have switch off your TV and look for it..

and Coldplay are bollocks.. I used to be a fan.. now they suck

As for Punk.. well it's such a loose term these days... you have to define what sort of punk etc.. It gets a bit much... definitely the one thing NOT worth giving a go is pop punk and emo punk (ok, so that's two)
