Hip-Hop, flip-flop?

Is it just me, or is hip-hop killing traditional rap, and putting forth senseless lyrics to a world already confused with what is right and what's wrong? Honestly, all of the lyrics are about either money, sex, or drugs, or knocking up Ms. Jackson's dog. It's making me sick. What happened to the good old days of funk and soul? I don't think anyone even knows who the hell Marvin Gaye is.

i'm sure most people have. hes not some exclusive artist that few know about.

I'm serious a lot of people don't know about the past greats. I'm sure you seasoned veterans do, but a lot of this new kids don't.

i don't really know a bunch of younger kids so i can't really say anything about that but who knows maybe one day they will. i mean i didn't know who most bands i listen to nowadays were when i was young.

I guess me hating this new style, or transition in music is just a sign of me getting old. It's something to realize when you're only 19...LOL. It's the way life works.
