Re: Who recorded VH1 Legends on Floyd?

Who recorded the "VH1 Legends of Rock: Pink Floyd"? Reason being, theres a song near the beginning of the program where it shows the bands playing a song along with that old guy thats doing the light show on his wall. He got Floyd to play music to it and recorded it. Does anyone know what this song is? Or is it just a jam? I dig it, it seems really relaxed for a 'Syd' song if you ask me. It sounds more 'non-Syd'. But any help will do!

Re: Who recorded VH1 Legends on Floyd?

Well i do think it was a Jam, and not recorded on any albums or anything, I have the VH1 one thing on tape at home In Pa which doesn't help much (I am in NY), but I remember what you are talking about. They were trying to match the music up with the way the dude was trying to figure out something about how light reflects, a very "pshycedelic experience" if you will. Once again I am pretty sure the sessions were not recorded, except on that video, but I would be interested in trying to find more about it, the VH1 legends show didn't go very far into it!

I really don't want to watch the legends thing again either because it quite depressed me, the stories about Syd really got to me, and i couldn't listen to Floyd for the better part of week because I didn't want to get any more upset then I was . . . anywho thats all I have to say about that

Yeah I'd like to find out more about it too. That song was very sweet, what I heard of it anyway. Well, if anyone else knows anything about it, leave a message.

Yes, that'd be nice, I'm willing to pay postage and cost of making a copy, if anyone cares to share.

Re: Who recorded VH1 Legends on Floyd?

I would but seeing that I am in central New York and the video is in South Eastern PA things would not work out too well.

Re: Who recorded VH1 Legends on Floyd?

Anyone English out their in cyberFloydworld?
If so, when is the "Legends" show coming to VH1 in the UK?
And will it have anything that the last two BBC documentaries didn't have?

Re: Who recorded VH1 Legends on Floyd?

I haven't seen the last two BBC documentaries seeing how I am in the States and we only have crappy BBC-America, which makes no sense at all. Anyway, I have the Legends on tape and I think the song was just a loose jam, perhaps to contrive ideas that would pop up in later songs. I thought it interesting that it also had songs like "Apples and Oranges" and also "Vegetable Man" which was nice. The Syd stories were depressing, indeed. My ex recently sent me this cool Pink Floyd audio cd biography that this 100-page color booklet on the band. It had some interesting facts about Syd in it. Did anybody hear about him trying to get into an Indian Cult and getting rejected? Thus adding onto his angst and eventual turn to drugs. His father also died when he was young, but unlike that poser (sorry to say) Waters he knew his dad.

Much Love,
`Me`

Well stated. I like the part about Roger, most people would shun on that comment, but I understand totally.

Re: Who recorded VH1 Legends on Floyd?

Don't fret. You all should know by now that vh1 is a repeating bastard and will play legends at least 40 more times in the next 6 months. Just randomly turn it on every so often and your bound to catch it eventually.

Re: Who recorded VH1 Legends on Floyd?

You could try going to their website and searching their schedules; I think you can search by individual show.
