Curse the RIAA...

Yeah...audiogalaxy's dead.
I have Kazaa, but it only finds fairly popular stuff.

Anyone else know of a file-sharing thing that offers a nice share of rarities, or some sort of format like Audiogalaxy?

Audiogalaxy is dead? That sucks!

At least they hooked me up with 5 or 6 rare Floyd tracks. And for that, they're awesome.

Yeah, AG was great. I blame Lars Ulrich for this. Let's chase him down and pummel him.

I use WinMX and have been able to find a good many rarities there.

SNAP!

(US: "Bread and Butter!")

Gone is Kazaa - that went in a day as it was too fiddly for me - and Morpheus - WinMX is the NEW King of Multi-user File Transfer.

In fact, shameful as it is to say, I just finished downloading one that made me weep like a blubbing child with nostalgia of some REALLY good times.

So long ago, so clear - Vangelis (& Jon Anderson)

Isn't music a Godsend?

Ah. I've downloaded that, but haven't used it at all. (Don't ask why, I generally make no sense.) I keep Kazaa to find music videos.

Hell, I go into a trance thinking of my brother whenever I hear "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

...and I can remember hearing Roger Waters's voice crack onstage ("In the Flesh" tour, Darien Lake, August '99)...while he was singing "Wish You Were Here."

The deeper music moves one, the better.
(Except, of course, when it's meant to be shallow. Like The Cars or such.)

...but I'm a bit too young for nostalgia. I get teary over things of a couple years ago, instead. (Amused to Death holds dear memories.)

I have found everything I've ever looked for(just about) on KaZaA. If you need rare Floyd stuff, let me know what you need and I'll put it there(if I have it of course).

I can't get anything besides "I Don't Like Mondays," "Banana Republic," or "Rat Trap" by Boomtown Rats. (Audiogalaxy let me download the whole album. Stupid Lars.) And I keep getting "More Sources Needed" when I try to download a Brian Eno album.
But hey, if you need any Jerry Harrison tracks, I've probably got them. (Except...would you have a cut of "Five Minutes" by Bonzo Goes to Washington? I wanna hear that.)

I've also found stuff not technically put on CDs on Audiogalaxy...and I really don't think Kazaa has any.

But if I need any floydian rarities, I'll keep you in mind.

Kazaa is rubbish compared to AG and it's full of spyware and something called Brilliant Digital Software which acts almost like a Trojan!
Uninstall it now, then run Adaware to remove all the crap that gets left behind but is still active on your system.
You can download a spyware free version of Kazaa from www.kazaalite.com
I was a member of the Pink Floyd group on AG and according to the forum there many refugees from AG are using a programme called Filetopia, I've downloaded it but not installed it yet, I'd be interested to know if anyone else has it and whether it's any good or not.
Also if you're just after Floyd stuff you could do worse than check out www.newpinkie.co.uk there's usually a full RoIO up in mp3 format every couple of weeks and the quality is usually top class. I've downloaded several shows and they've all been good enough to burn to cd .
