yeah...the Dark Side theme was pretty far out.

Meddle sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

I know exactly what you mean by "not as hard"--- the font that I'm thinking of is the one on the official PF site (there are four different Meddle pics, I think, that are cycled through on the randomized front page). You can see which one I'm talking about at http://www.pinkfloyd.com/home/7.html.

While it's a pretty generic-looking font, I think it suits Meddle well, so I'd like to find something as close as possible. Is there anyone with a huge font database who wants to look through them all for me?

Century Gothic is a near exact match; that's the font I'd recommend to duplicate the font on the Pink Floyd page.

Sorry it took so long for me to answer that!

I was wondering if anyone remembered this poor little thread up here. Thanks--- I see if I can find that at work tomorrow (we have a huge font database). So now I should be pretty close to being done with the logo, at least. Was I supposed to do a background, too?

Gerald, this is all "volunteer work", so to speak. You only have to do what you want and have time for; there's no pressure from anybody else. So if you can, great, if you can't, that's fine too.

I make FW's words my own.

BTW, thanks for taking the time to try and create such things, Gerald. We really appreciate it.

Oh, I know I'm not required, I was just wondering if there was already a background for the theme, or if that was needed as well.

Not bad...quite good, in fact, but the text needs...something.

I put it though a mosaic filter - credit to GeraldTheMouse - to "cut it into little pieces" - the axe has more "Careful With that..." rather than OOTD, to me - and to pay homage to the Floyd's meaning of "to interfere" in Meddle.

What filter was that, Byron?

Oh never mind, I found it.

Incidentally, I think the problem (or a problem) with the text is that it isn't anchored.... so I changed the cropping. See if this is better.

Mosaic. Didn't try "Craquelure"

Btw, I was in no way denigrating your use of the axe, but clumsily attempting to express my "first-reaction" as a PF fan, once I figured it all out. I like the axe, and the set-up, and interweaving of different elements.

The something I think the text needs is more prominence, maybe a larger or "fatter" font. Have also been studying the filtered version and see the "walking Floyd" will need some highlighting if mosaic is used.

"Cheers"
Byron

Better.

And here's No. 2 with larger mosaic tiles, and the right quarter cropped.

As with all my suggestions, yours are the original ideas so mine are free for use or refuse.

I like what the mosaic does to the text, but I don't like what it does to the rest of the image. Try this on for your fancy.
