Bump.

If anyone wants to contribute to a background, so the logo that Gerald made (which I love, I must say) can be integrated with it, kinda like we did on the Wall theme, that would be most appreciated.

Oh, I guess I should be talking in this thread and not the other. Like I said, what size graphic can I use for the background pattern? I'd be willing to make it if no one else will.

Ok, let's talk on this thread then.

Like I said, the background has to be around 2 or 3 kb or less. Sorry if I won't help, but, like I said, I'm not much of a graphic designer. I don't even have Photoshop or any similar programs installed on my computer right now. I've pretty much given up on my artistic abilities.

Thanks, Gerald.

Actually I had a bit of spare time just now and I whipped this up. It's the logo faded back into a solid Meddle-esque color-- for this to integrate into the background, you just need to set the background color as #596F6C (Hex) or I could make a little square of color to tile if you'd like. Anyway, see what you think:

Ok, I'm testing the first alpha version of the new Meddle theme, thanks to Gerald's contributions. Gerry, this last version looks awesome. I only resized it a bit and compressed with JPG so it wouldn't be so big.

Just out of curiosity, how exactly did you do that fading effect, and with what program? I've always wanted how to do that!

Please check how it looks here. Be sure to take a look at the test post to see how it would look like when viewing a thread.

Also, please notice that forum is a test-only forum, so no posts are allowed there, except by mods.

I'm not a mod, but I'm still color picky. Any chance I can discuss with the big boys?

No problem-- I know nothing about website design or file size limitations or practicalities or whatnot, I just make pretty pictures.

I use Adobe Photoshop 7.0 for pretty much all this stuff, and a bit of Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator depending on what I'm doing. For the fading I made a layer mask with a gradient effect around the logo, with a deviance of 20 pixels or so. Don't worry, that hardly made sense to me either.

I'm sure you can do it in all kinds of programs, but like I said, I pretty much use only Photoshop, so I don't know how to go about it with any other program. Sorry.

The new Meddle theme looks the bussiness. I love it. I always found the Wall theme a little too bright, and Darkside sometimes a bit dull although it's very good. This seems just right.

I'm a big fan, too, even though I'm probably biased a bit.

Sure thing, just send me a PM. Suggestions are always welcome, specially considering I'm a bit color blind, as I've said on the testing thread.
