"Lord of the Rings"? New Floydian Drawing

Hey, Da_Floyd_Fan, I remember you were asking if I was ever going to do a new Floydian drawing. There's now a new one at my website, if you'd like to take a look. I can't find a scan of the original, but believe me...that outfit to the right ( ) was not made up!!!

Anyone else is welcome to take a look as well. All you have to do is punch the WWW button, and look at the last site update. That'll take you straight to it.

Very nice drawing! I really think you have captured the distinctive facial characteristics of each member.... except Rick. You need to give him more sunken eyes, i think the distinctive thing about him is his long face with deep contours. You know what i mean, its hard to describe a face.

As for LoTR, he could probably be Aragorn.

Re: "Lord of the Rings"? New Floydian Drawing

It was a little difficult with the lighting on him...the glare actually took away some of the shadows in some areas of his face, if that makes any sense. The features you describe show in some photos more than others (look at the AMLoR promo for the clearest example) yet hardly at all in some (such as the Broken China photos).

But thank you for taking the time to look and comment.

Wait a screwy little second. I looked at the page title. "Pink Floyd Drawing - Ummagumma?". The answer is clearly NO.

Um...that better not be the perverted thought I THINK you're having...

I do know it has to be after Saucerful and (probably) before AHM.

And thanks for your compliment. I remember that crazy discussion we had in the last one!

Sorry about that.

There's a WWW button at the bottom of my posts that takes you to the site--but I'll give you the URL as a link, if you like.

The style of clothing isn't psychedelic, I think. The psychedelic hippie style had colourful shirts and flowers and stuff.

Re: "Lord of the Rings"? New Floydian Drawing

Then what kind of wacky style IS it? Really--enquiring minds would like to know!

BTW, I don't know if your link will work, with the lower-case letters. But thanks anyway for writing it!

Anyway, I think it's just a wacky suit Rick got in Paris ar some screwy place with a weird fashion.

Re: "Lord of the Rings"? New Floydian Drawing

I don't know why you got that. Perhaps you should copy the link into your browser, instead of clicking straight on it...?

I don't know when that pic was taken, though I guess 1968 or (more likely) 1969. Also, Nicholas Schaffner uses the term "psychedelic" when he describes that picture. He could be wrong, of course.

I find it quite funny that the quietest Floyd has the "loudest" outfit. Seems to me that occasionally he does something wacky for attention. Like dressing up in what looks like some kind of medieval torture device, or naming an album Wet Dream. I think it's funny, myself. It's like shouting, "HEY!!! Look at me, I'm HERE!!!" Except without needing all the yelling.

Yeah, sometimes introverts do little things to get attention. I know that, and it could be Rick's case too.

Damn Angelfire! How about Geocities? Anything of that matter there?

P.S. Thanks for the URL's!
