How about Comfortably Numb? Think Roger plays bass on it? Except for the lyrics its basically Dave's song......

I'm sure he had to at least live, most PF songs were dave's except for the lyrics.

Re: Guitars on 'Mother"

funny thing is, I like the simple version with just Roger and some sound effects that you hear on the movie. They just dropped Dave's solo on top of it.

Oh yes, that one. As said before, when it comes to music, simplicity is best way. Still, my number one favorite is Goodbye Blue Sky with the superb acoustic techniques. The song is amzingly easy to play, actually. But does anybody know who plays the two guitars on the cd?

Re: Guitars on 'Mother"

It has been said that Gilmour played a lot of the bass for their albums. Is that true and how often would he play the bass for the albums? And should this darn question be moved to some other thread?

No. It's monotone.

Re: Guitars on 'Mother"

I don't know how deep the old "Dave plays bass" thing goes.
I know for a fact he plays bass on Pigs and Sheep and the fretless on Hey You. I'm sure we will all admit he's a more skilled musician than Roger, but I'm willing to bet Mr. Waters played some bass here and there.

It's true. I think that probably he used to play the most difficult lines. In addition to the songs mentioned on this thread he played bass on Have A Cigar, for example. I don't know CN but probably it's Roger.

Re: Guitars on 'Mother"

Is everyone here just guessing as to who played which instrument, or are you getting this from some source?
