Since I am new, who here plays guitar?

I play guitar, not very well, i pretty much just make up my own stuff, i need a better guitar though, mines a starter kit, the one i want is like $900 but yeah im poor. . .

I got a Peal Acoustic a few weeks ago, and am just starting to learn. It's really cool when you first start putting chords together.

i bought my guitar little over a year ago...
i mostly play chords, not too much fingerplay yet, which is just as well, since i think rythmeguitar is cooler than lead guitar.
I wish i dedicated more time to playing though. Train my ear and my hands/fingers and such. But, too long days at school just drains my energy, have been long periods where i never got around to pick up my guitar.... i play a little every night these days though.

I'm a guitarist and a fairly experimental keyboarder (I have one song on keyboard that's superb -- but it was improv, so I don't know how to play it back )

I'm pretty good on guitar, though, but I'm jittery in front of people so that takes away from my ability to ever do any performances live. I have BAD stage fright.

But hey, you get a little bit of attention if you can whip out "Is There Anybody Out There?" in front of kids at the high school who are all into The Wall, so the guitar's treated me well.

I have a BC Rich warlock (Musicians Friend subscribers might recognize that as the cheapest piece of crap in the catalog) and my prized possession is a classical acoustic Fender.

I've been playing an acoustic Cort guitar for about 5 months now. I had played electric before like 3 years ago, but just picked it back up recently and traded my electric in for the acoustic. I've learned to play Wish You Were Here, Mother, and Money! I love it

I've been playing for about three years, I'd say. Started by renting an electric, switched to accoustic and then got my own electric in addition. Took lessons on and off for two years and the last year or so haven't taken any, though I have jammed with far more other musicians...in itself a learning process. Recently have taken up writing songs, mainly on accoustic, and am with a semi-functional band called Audi Noki.

I play guitar and drums, both self-taught.

When I'm alone in my room I play my Spanish guitar and that's how I usually write my own stuff which is full of arpeggios and some experimentation with chord structures and such. One thing that I really like is playing music in the guitar which was originally meant for piano like Tori Amos' "Winter" (you get a lovely warm sound with pieces like that in a Spanish guitar).

But whenever I play with a band I prefer playing drums. I enjoy much more a gig behind my drumkit than playing guitar.
