Baby Floyd, if you dont have enough money to buy one, and you have a little time on your hands, you could do wot I'm doin at the moment: make one. I know that sounds a bit odd but really its quite easy. I mean it's a lot easier than makin a normal guitar cos you dont have to fret it or anything.I modeled my one on the one Dave Gilmour uses in Pulse. Its much cheaper than buyin one.I think mine will cos me about 150-175 euros.

Good Idea!

I did find a site about making them, but he/she was trying to sell their book on it, so not much was given away.

Im too busy at the moment doing my Alevels, but im considering dropping one so I'll have alot more time. And my school's just had a new Technology room built, very tempting.

Good luck making yours!

I want to make a Strat, but I think it would be a tad expensive.

Ireland is not a part of the UK, but is a member of EMU (European Monetary Union: the single currency).

The UK is forever himming and hawing about whether or not to keep the Pound or accept the Euro. So far, I think the majority don't want the Euro, but the government of whichever colour will eventually choose to accept it when they can see more benefit from it than cost.

I personally couldn't give a toss whose face appears on my notes or the name of the currency. So long as its legal tender and I can spend what I make, I couldn't care less.

But, of course, I am not British by birth, so I don't feel the same historical loyalty to the Pound as would the natives. Ch-ching!

Financial Floydian,
BoaB

Obviously, Bride of a Bull spends a lot of time prepairing his posts! How long did it take to come up with that? Our government cant make a statement like that on the euro. I quoted in IR£ cos he made it before the euro was introduced. 1euro is worth £0.64 sterling (british pounds) and is about par with the US dollar ($1.01 to be exact), so whatever the canadian dollar is worth against that.

God I hate foreign exchange.

No, not obviously. I usually type out my posts on-the-fly and spend most of my time editing them. I can't be doing with spell-checking elsewhere before posting.

Luckily for me I am very familiar with EMU and the Euro having led the conversion project for my former international Arab bank. The Euro was introduced as a currency unit only three years ago, running alongside the former National currencies until the first of this year, with those currencies comprising denominational units of the Euro at a fixed exchange rate.

From 1st January this year, the Euro became legal tradeable currency and the National currencies are being withdrawn, and from 1st July, the ONLY legal tender within the participating 12 Euro-zone countries including Ireland.

The reverse side of Euro coins (reverse) shows the identical Euro and denominational infomation, and the obverse shows images of National importance of some, not all, participants. The basic design of the Euro notes (reverse) share the same principal with the coins: reverse with denomination Euro info and the front showing National landmarks from some, again not all, participants. See the links for pictures.

Okay, carry on as you were.

p.s. this post DID take me a while, but it was fun revisiting that exciting realm of what makes the world go round. "A Mark, a Yen, a Buck or a Pound."? Hah, not bloody likely, fraulein.

p.p.s. and as you will plainly see, even this post needed editing.
