Damn I missed the whole discussion...oh well.

We look at people who go on death row and we feel sorry for them, and yet we are on on death row ourselves.
If you want to know 'why we are here' on earth, there is only one reason, and that is: to die. This is why I don't feel so much sympathy for people that have died (but lets not get into that!)
It sounds depressing, but it really isn't. Just look at me:

We are all here on Earth for one reason, and that is: to learn. Everybody has their ups & downs in life, but the point is that you learn from your experiences. It's okay to make mistakes as long as you learn from them. It is far more important what you learn from the mistake and how you solve the situation than is the actual mistake. If you have made it through another day without learning anything, you have done something wrong.

But what the hell do we do with everything that we've learned? It all goes down the drain when we die anyway.

I mean, in the end, we are just animals that have reached the top of the food chain and made ourselves comfortable through our own intelligence.

Being an atheist, I believe that a lot of things happened to line up and hey look! here we are. I don't think there really is a reason to be here. We live, we die; just try to make a good time of it while you can.

Plus, I was reading some of the earlier posts; some of which were saying that us (humans) were special because he have imaginations, experience deja vu, etc.
When was it proved that animals didn't have imaginations? It's not like they can exactly speak to us or anything.

They do. We just don't know the language yet...

You know what I mean.

It's not exactly a language per se...

I completely agree with Shane: enjoy life while you can; its not long, and don't think so much.

I would go along with PaperBoy on this; i.e., I believe when we die our Spirits continue to exist, and the things we learn during mortality go with us.

But if death IS the end, well....screw love, indeed.
