Yes, but in the land of hopes and dreams, I at 16, was able to purchase alcoholic beverages...and growing up in an Italian family meant that there was always a glass of wine with dinner....oh from about the age of 10? I guess it just depends on how you view things...It's funny though Driven, it always seemed that drinking was so much more fun, before I turned 21.

Being born and bred in a country where the foreign view of your culture consists of Guinness and, well, leprachauns; it always amazes me at how hard it is to drink underage in other countries. In Ireland you have to be, no sorry, are supposed to be over 18 before you can buy alcohol, but there is nothing to stop an adult from buying you a beer at eight say.In fact if you said it was for your dad/mum at eight you could probably by a pint in a pub here. It is just so easy to buy drink here.
