Get off your high horse.
Actually she doesn't, but its called critical thinking. Why does she have that one certain opinion? Rather than the simple opinion itself.

By the way, thanks for being you.

Roger on ALW: "He's in your face all the time."
Who is that guy who always fills his lyrics with political banter about Maggie Thatcher, Ronald Reagan, (and now) George Bush and Tony Blair, the politics of the world, everything that's wrong with the world? Who *is* that, I wonder?

j/k

"What's the deal with Andrew Lloyd Webber?"

In general, (Roger) just doesn't like ALW's music, and doesn't mind saying so. But specifically, there's a section of Webber's _Phantom of the Opera_ that bears a marked similarity to a part of ``Echoes.'' The opening notes to the ``Overture'' of _Phantom_ (Track 2, Disc 1) are C# C B Bb A C#. This matches rather closely a section of ``Echoes,'' approximately 6:06 to 6:16. While Waters was less than pleased with this similarity, Echoesians have pointed out that such a chromatic pattern is fairly common; by no means a Floyd invention. However, the relevant dates make the charge of plagiarism at least possible, if not really likely -- Webber first used the riff in question on the film ``Gumshoe,'' released in December 1971. _Meddle_ was released on 11 November, 1971, with the live debut of ``Echoes'' having occurred on April 22.
...but it's okay for Roger to steal lyrics for "Set the Controls For the Heart of the Sun" from Chinese poetry (by his own admission). And for some odd reason, the musical construction and form of "The Bravery of Being Out of Range" (1992) sounds a lot like Steely Dan's "The Boston Rag" (1973).

Um, I think Roger's main complaint was that ALW's work is derivative by nature, and that his themes are unoriginal as a rule... not to mention his musicals being boring, contrived, and lifeless. Copping one line of Pink Floyd music isn't quite bad enough for you to end up as a charicature in Roger's lyrics.

Also...the coda in Echoes(thye one after the verses, wich connects each verse and the solo) is VERy similiar to one found in Phantom of the Opera....altough don0't remenber where(never listented to it completeley:P)
