Then comfy numb never would have happened...I'm not so keen on that idea.

It has grown on me quite a lot since, similarly, giving it a slagging a year or so back. I'm still not really a fan of Pigs on the wings, but whatever, you know? We live in a digital age where stuff can be programmed out, 'Hats off to Harper' style.

Birdsong etc,

I'd agree with everything said there. Ultimately The Wall would have been made, just without Comfy Numb. But that too would have been made, on Dave's solo album. The Wall, maybe could have come out as a single album, and Rog could have cut some of the fat, making it a more enjoyable album.

Actually, has anyone seen the episode of The Simpsons with Stephen Hawking in it?

There's a fantastic bit where Principal Skinner is involved in a face off with him.

SH: "If you're looking for trouble, you've come to the right place."

PS: "Why you...! Just you try..."

Just then, a comedy boxing glove springs out of Hawking's wheelchair and totally KO's Skinner.

Absolute irreverent comedy cartoon genius.

Cheers,

Mark

Re: post-waters era singing and vocals

Yeah saw that in the last few days actually.

Re Comfy Numb...it would have had Dave Gilmour lyrics if not on the wall...that would be bad m'kay.

No problem, but really, have you heard Time from DSoT? Not the mixing, but Mr. Wright's voice really sounds old and... weak to me.

No, I have not.

However, I hear no such weakness on PULSE--I would suspect confidence level may have something to do with it.

Wright's voice has always sounded good to me. I can't wait to hear another solo album by him. Any news on that so far, FW?

I remember seeing that episode. It was hilarious! It still makes me laugh even when its repeated.

Somehow I can't see Gilmour coming into that...

Gilmour + "My lovely horse" =

Nope still can't see it.

None I'm aware of. Personally, I think there won't be a lot of publicity until it gets close to a release (assuming there IS such an album). The guy likes his privacy.

I agree with half of that statement.
