post-waters era singing and vocals

And talking about bad singing, did you heard Roger's voice in Amused To Death? I like the album but Rog's vocals...

I have not yet heard "Amused to Death", but I intend to order it as well as the book from amazon.com... I hear it is the greatest of roger waters [solo]. I have the pros and cons, and I enjoy the great contrast in his vocals(one second calm, the other insane screaming).

Also, if you disagree completely, you have to at least agree that dave's singing isn't as good as it was in the earlier years. That is usually a side effect of age.

Keep Talking is good music... The part after the guitar solo, with that really spaced-out keyboard sound(clearly, written by rick), was the best part in my opinion. I listen to the song for that section only, usually. Also, I think the beat sounds decent. I could do without the intro section, however.

you have to at least agree in the "early days" that Gilmour had a much better singing voice than Rog.

Gilmour has always been the better singer... When rogers words and style flow from his mouth.

Rog was a decent writer, i'll give you that much. but seems like after a while he went off the deep end.

I think Rog's voice has improved, Dave's has gotten worse.

Seems to me like Dave isn't too bad at reproducing the old hits.

I'll gladly admit that rogers musical capabilities aren't as good as when he was with gilmour.... Gilmour can come up with some nice tunes, and rick as well.

Speaking of rick, I wouldn't mind seeing rog get back with him and mason, to create songs that have a sound comparable to "stay" and "us and them". These two show that when wright influences waters' ideas, the result is completely stellar... Even though stay is second rate compared to us and them. The only problem would be roger allowing jazz to get near his music again... heh

I think David intended his voice to sound like it does on "Keep Talking" for a reason...look at the name of the song.

Gilmour's voice has suffered a bit as he gets older - some of the vocals on Pulse are strained (Hey You, High Hopes), but he still has that sweet sound. And I'd still take his vocals over Roger any day.

Roger's vocals have improved with age - I think he's trying harder to sing musically. It's unique, but it ain't pretty

"Improving with age"? Seriously, I did like Roger's voice in the 60s, early 70s, until Dark Side, but on half of the songs of ATD it seems that he has drunk a cup of acid before singing.

We all know Roger doesn't have the greatest singing voice in the world...but I still love it. He does have a unique voice, and I love it...I love Roger's voice.

I disagree. Some of the post-Waters songs Gilmour's singing is awesome. Certainly not talk-sing (which is the way I'd describe a lot of Waters' songs). Take Poles Apart, or Coming Back to Life for example.

I do agree that his voice isn't as strong as it used to be.

WRT Waters, I saw him in concert this year and his voice sounds very good still.

I thought Roger's voice was great post-Dark Side, especially on songs where he and Gilmour shared singing responsiblities, like Cn or Dogs. A whole yin and yang kinda thing, where his his voice perfectly complimented Dave's, and vice versa.

Dave's voice on PULSE, in my opinion, was horrible, one of the reason's I can't stand that poor excuse for a record.
