Re: Pulse DVD?

It's slightly reminiscent of Kill Bill 2.

They're not pics. They're the photographer's actual reflection, who is taking a real picture of full-size eyeballs on a beach.

Oh, that crazy Storm Thorgerson!

Re: Pulse DVD?

I wonder why it's only coming out in Dolby Digital.

Besides the obvious jokes about how much longer it would take them to do that...I think they've missed an opportunity to produce the thing in the best sound quality (DTS is now widely regarded as a superior quality mix for surround systems).

I guess we'll never be happy huh!!!

I'm now waiting for the announcement of the Delicate Sound of Thunder DVD...incorporating new footage from Versailles and Venice...and slated for a July 2017 release.

Re: Pulse DVD?

DTS has basically ceased development, and it fucks up some older players unfortunately. I would have preferred a DTS option as well, but the hi-def DD should be almost as good.

Nick has pooh-poohed the idea of releasing DST again.

Is DTS on the way out then? Live-8 DVD comes with a DTS option and (surprise surprise) the Brain-Damage review says that one is the best mix.

Gilmour's DVD was also without a DTS option, as was Waters' show, and I remember being curious as to why the Floyd (not usually shy when it comes to using the best) would not include it.

Anyway, I guess we'll never know.

Yeah I doubt we'll see DSoT in a DVD format any time soon / ever. PF management has also said there are no plans for a release. Seems a shame...with footage and recordings from at least three shows they could put together a brilliant DVD.

Re: Pulse DVD?

I went to HMV today and in the Floyd section they had stuff with "PULSE COMING OUT ON DEC 6TH"

we now have another date to add to the list.

Re: Pulse DVD?

I think Canada has delayed from the 6th to the 20th, just like the US.

DTS isn't really "on the way out" yet, it's just that Dolby Digital is more universally compatible.

Oh, that crazy Storm Thorgerson!

I love this image...with my head angled thus

...and if I invert the values

^ and then slide the focus right in on the lower pupil, and it looks like either astronauts walking on the surface of the moon, or a tall lanky bass player on the surface of Vesuvius. There's something or someone in there. Hello Hello Hello ..

Storm Thorgerson still has a great sense of humour.

(Looks like a beach to me too, Botley.)

Re: Pulse DVD?

Yesterday I bought a DVD called Pink Floyd London 1966/67. Is there a thread about that one somewhere? Someone point me to the right gate.
