Maybe he won't overtake Benson, but you will see the difference between now and then.

Because as everyone knows, if you pick a white guy for anything, it's racism.

Usually your sarcasm fogs everyone, but me. But even this time I am lost, who exactly are you agreeing with?

Personally, i never liked those guys who plays the guitar very fast. I don't care how skilled te guy is. To me the best guitar players is the ones who plays with the heart.

1)David Gilmour ( He transformed rock and roll in art)
2)Eric Clapton (just love his songs, his solos...The most beautiful song ever: Tears in Heaven)
3)Mark Knopfler (Brothers in Arms)
4)Jimmy hendrix ( why fourth? Because i think he lacks harmony. I don't care if he plays with his teeth or with his lips. He didn't perfomed a music that sticked with me...)
5)Gary Moore ( I still got the blues)

i think we need to have a poll... but first id like to run by the guitarists that should be on it, after reading this thread and getting what seems to be the popular opinions. it will be short, a best of the best list.

- Jimmy Page
- Jimi Hendrix
- Eric Clapton
- David Gilmour
- George Harrison

ok? any major objections?

#1 = Eric Johnson. Watch this guy. I swear, there's gotta be nothing he can't do, and he plays everything so much cleaner than satriani. He plays in almost any style perfectly, and I want to find someone that amazes me more than him. If there is one, I'll be surprised.

Gilmour gets my top pick, of course.

2. Hendrix
3. Jimmy Page
4. Clapton
5. George Harrison

I've also always been kind of impressed with Brian May of Queen.
